Hmmm, seems like the House only needs to get rid of 153 people, to raise the level of discussion.

so, 256-153 in the house, 92-6 in the Senate. IOW, we have 159 names that have firmly placed themselves in the Traitor category.

Right. Just add those 159 to the 56 million who voted for John Kerry in the last election. Seems the Republic is FULL of traitors now.

Once again the dems step on the steaming pile. But the 42 that voted for the bill are due a thank you. Motive here on their part is clear . But a win is a win. They must be unaware of the current clean up attempt on the ground . For the first time since the landing we are fighting a war , with the intention of winning. I love the election process here , in tough times it provides clarity.

Can someone please explain to me why there always seems to be a vote on this?

To counter the lies that this is Bush's war and that we are there by deceit.

The President is visiting NM with Rep. Heather Wilson (sometime RINO) for a campaign fundraiser. She is in a tough race for re-election with a popular Rat state attorney general, Patricia Madrid.

"Stay the course, I don't think so Mr. President. It's time to face the facts," House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi of California answered, as she called for a new direction in the conflict. "The war in Iraq has been a mistake. I say, a grotesque mistake."

I see Legosi is working in her new "talking point". How quaint, another cheap leftist hack.

The resolution is rather tame. I would be interested in precisely which line the opponents disagreed with.
It really reminds me of a state legislature passing a resolution honoring local police officers for their bravery and sacrifice; their is always one leftist who votes no because they do not want to be seen as ignoring police brutality.

Can you imagine the message it would send to the insurgents if the vote had been something like 400 yea - 9 nay. It would make it crystal clear that there attempt to break our will through slaughtering innocents had failed.
Now with 153 Democrats voting for retreat, their leaders can say all we need is to convince 52 more legislators; with the help of the US media and another four months of slaughtering civilians we will win this.
The 153 Democrats are simply sending a message to the terrorists hang in there "Help is on the way"

As the good news continues to come in from Iraq, their position will be come more and more untenable and the Rats will be seen for the traitorous politicians most of them are.

Iraq to take over the south's security: deputy PM (Aussie, Brit, & Japanese pulling troops!)

CNN pigs indeed. Last night Mr. Prairie had Anderson Cooper on for a while (he says he tunes in occasionally so he knows what CNN is saying, I think he does it periodically to tease me). :^)

Anyway they were gloomily reporting about the "huge division" in congress over the war and not one single word about the senate vote, not one word. They focused on the House vote, obviously because it hadn't been taken with clips of RAT House critter anti-war speeches.

Actually, I'd rather watch pigs than CNN. At least a pig is honest about who and what he is. And why he stinks.

Pigs can be taught to be clean and maybe even be housebroken (pot bellied pigs, for example). There is no hope for CNN.

All nods to pot bellied pigs then. :^)

And pigs really are very intelligent animals. Unlike CNN.

What IS this "new direction" SanFranNan keeps talking about? Is it anything other than a forward march to the rear?

For the case of the Senate, the resolution was built from what John Kerry was building in his bill. But the republicans decided to remove all the wizzy worded stuff and put the subject to a vote.

In the House, I suspect that this was a move to counter a lot of the DemocRat representatives who seem to be getting a lot of press coverage for the anti war stance. So to calm the rhetoric down, to stop the anti war senators and congressman from standing in front of a camera, this issue was put to a vote. I was also done as a "where do you stand" point that will be used when the reelections of the officials happen in November.

those 42 brave Democrats who voted FOR this non-binding resolution

They're probably up for re-election, which is VERY telling: they know that despite the alleged "polls" showing decreased support for the war on terror, the American people are behind it and want it to succeed.
