A few of my friends saw the show.
Said it was about as political as a desk.
Kind of figured as much, Coulter is a solid conservative, but Carlin is more left leaning liberal hating kind of person (if it sounds like a contradiction, it is).
I doubt Carlin wanted to debate Coulter (he wants to promote a movie) and vice versa (she has a book to promote).
Carlin (as my friends describe him) is a "multiple personality left wing conservative", which is a nice way of saying he has liberal points of view, but hates the same folks who would agree with him and loves to bash them too.

Glad you all were there to show support for Ann. The MSM would have gloated all day tomorrow had the lefties dominated the audience and been allowed to boo her when she was speaking. I thought Ann made her points well and presented herself, as usual, in a logical and direct manner.
Carlin's monologue rap was amusing and his statement about being moved to the right by Ann was a good quip. I have to say that Carlin is a veteran of the USAF and worked as a DJ in Wichita Falls, Texas, in the late 50's. He may be a liberal but he's done his service.

This beat poem he did tonight was impressive in that he remembered it without flubbing up the words, but it didn't enter the category of "comedy." Exactly, and thats what struck me about him was that this was just another of his performed madrassa rants.. I loved that guy as a kid but its all just rhythm and news to Carlin

Most of what she said tonight was from her column on Townhall.com today, which is good since most of Leno's audience probably does not read her Townhall columns or even know what Townhall is.

Very unusual to hear a conservative audience on Jay Leno's show.
Funny you say that. I NEVER watch Leno but I had to - tonight. When I heard all the positive reaction for Ann - I was a surprised. You guys were so loud, SO GOOD, I thought the whole audience were conservative.
THANK YOU, ALL - you were great!! Ann Knows Doug!! ;)
To: Cinnamon Girl
Oh yea, we could hear you guys loud and clear. I knew Ann was going to be on his show, but I had no idea - and apparently neither did Leno - that his audience was filled with Ann's fans.

Great job. I can't believe how quickly you posted your report. You must carry a lap top with you.
Carlin I thought had excellent material but rattled it off too fast. The babe stunk.
I sure heard a lot of cheering for Ann, you guys were in tune. Ann did a great job, 'dropping a house on the MSM', and pointing out here book was number one.

Yes... God Bless Carlin for his past...
..and maybe thanks to Drudge and the MSM (are they becoming one? hmm), I was expecting something else from this. Leno makes mucho dinero bashing conservatives. But I was pleseantly surprised by the cheers for Ann. I expected boos & hisses galore.

I wasn't surprised that Carlin was civil and didn't attack Coulter. The MSM were playing up this big "facing off with liberal George Carlin" angle all day, but they forgot that Carlin is an equal-opportunity offender who has had plenty of experience with people condemning him for daring to say things they think he shouldn't have said. He might disagree with Coulter's viewpoint, but I seriously doubted he would side with her critics who want to silence her opinions and ban her books, at least in tolerant, liberal New Jersey.
I also liked his monologue. I'm a comedy writer myself, and I appreciate the craft of it. It wasn't meant to be laugh-out-loud funny, it was more of a satirical poem, and it well illustrated how many pointless, cliched buzz words people use these days and how empty and gaseous they are when you string them all together. Carlin has always done interesting things on the language like that, like his bit about how "shell shock" became "battle fatigue" and finally "post-traumatic stress disorder" because if PC do-gooders can just add enough syllables, the words eventually become meaningless and all the pain goes away.

Great report, Cinnamon Girl. Wonderful seeing Ann, you, RonDog, Andrew and others at the post-show. I've posted some photos on the other thread.
If someone can put up Ann's segment discretely YouTube or something and Private Mail me, I'd appreciate it so I could watch the show. I'm without a TV 10 years this month.
