The part I loved best that she said is (paraphrasing best as I can remember this late) that "this supposed "discourse" with politics that didn't used to exist is because Conservatives FINALLY have a voice to respond to liberals with FOX news and Talk Radio and the Internet, and they could never respond before." THAT was priceless and something that the majority of Americans are so thankful for that FINALLY, they have a voice and can't be forcibly spoonfed crap that they know is crap by the mainstream media. THAT was the biggest diamond in the large field of diamonds that was what she said on Leno. AWESOME appearance. Lots of libs going to bed upset tonight. :)

I'll be taping it. I'll check it out tomorrow.

I thought I saw some careful camera jockying
Not surprising, however.
Don't look for this much-hyped media event to be covered much by the morning shows tomorrow ;)

Doug, you lucky fella--you deserve it. Glad she recognized your screen name.
Just saw the show--Ann did great, Jay was respectful, and George knew enough to just look on.

I was going to say that it looked like it was from the time of the Spanish Civil War. Perfect sorta beat me to it.
Anyway,
We are the folk song army,
Every one of us cares.
We all hate poverty, war, and injustice
Unlike the rest of you squares.
There are innocuous folk songs, yeah,
But we regard 'em with scorn.
The folks who sing 'em have no social conscience,
Why, they don't even care if Jimmy Crack Corn.
If you feel dissatisfaction,
Strum your frustrations away.
Some people may prefer action,
But give me a folk song any old day.
The tune don't have to be clever,
And it don't matter if you put a couple extra syllables into a line.
It sounds more ethnic if it ain't good English
And it don't even gotta rhyme... (excuse me: rhyne!)
Remember the war against Franco?
That's the kind where each of us belongs.
Though he may have won all the battles,
We had all the good songs!
So join in the folk song army!
Guitars are the weapons we bring
To the fight against poverty, war, and injustice.
Ready, aim, sing!

How would you categorize her album?
Chick rock (in a good way) with a good seasoning of Bonnie Raitt. "Black Horse & the Cherry Tree" has had good airplay, "Suddenly I See" is a good follow up, and I like her ballad "Other Side of the World."

I bet he never call Moores fans left wing.

I wasn't there.
I'm glad you where.
I thought Carlins rap was wonderful as a display of mental recording but hes been doing that for 50 years "stream of conscious" impressive but without a point like rap. Muslims and rappers alike use rythym to make mental recordings to memorize lines and to sound quick witted. By the end Carlin was left silent.

Carlin's "Rap" was confusing. As were the scattered laughs from the audience at the end of every other - verse?
He looked small. I mean, REALLY small. But he looks damn good for 69.

You're probably right. I think Ann's parents might be confused if they watch Leno tonight. Someone named Controversial Ann Coulter was on. They didn't know that was her first name.

I bet he never call Moores fans left wing.At the beginning of the show, the announcer told the audience that Jay's guests would include George Carlin (no modifiers) and "Controversial Conservative Ann Coulter."

Wonderful after-action report, Cinnamon Girl! Thank you all for being there... you were LOUD AND CLEAR! Very unusual to hear a conservative audience on Jay Leno's show.
I suspect many of the libs (or just plain clueless) in the audience didn't even know who Ann Coulter was, judging by the lack of boos...?

I am so late to this party.
Cinnamon Girl, my thanks (mixed with envy) to you and all the other Freepers who showed up to have Ann's back.
And it may be that no one got out of line with Ann because they knew they would have to deal with her entourage.
And Ann -- someone beat me to it here:

I've heard recordings of Carlin way back when he was funny. He had some bit about moving his stuff around on vacation in Hawaii and the difference between Baseball and Football. Funny stuff. This beat poem he did tonight was impressive in that he remembered it without flubbing up the words, but it didn't enter the category of "comedy."
