[history]
Washington County (PA) Commissioner Diana Irey, running for PA's 12th District Congressional seat against Rep. Jack Murtha, is joining us for a live question and answer session beginning at 8:00 pm EDT on June 14th.
http://www.irey.com/about/
Thread background:
Beginning June 5th questions for Diana Irey were solicited and received from the Free Republic (FR) audience. Late on June 12th 37 questions from 24 posters were compiled and forwarded to two FR moderators and Diana Ireys staff. No questions were removed for being judged as too easy, too difficult, etc. Some grammar corrections were made, and any editorial insertions are noted by brackets.
The two moderators then reviewed the entire list, and selected and prioritized the questions to be asked during our live thread. Ms. Ireys staff was informed that this comprehensive list was merely a starting point for them to prepare detailed responses. Other, subsequently received questions could still be asked, and not all of the comprehensive list will be presented to her during the thread.
As of 5:00pm EDT 8 additional posters submitted another 14 questions for consideration.
Thread rules:
- Diana Irey has agreed to appear for one hour, from 8:00-9:00 pm EDT.
- A moderator will welcome Diana Irey, allow for an opening statement by her, and then proceed to deliver questions one at a time for Ms. Irey to review and respond.
- In order to facilitate a smooth presentation and make for easier reading, we ask all thread participants to refrain from posting during her interview. Moderators will be closely monitoring the thread, and any attempts at disruption will be quickly dealt with.
- After Ms. Ireys departure, her campaign manager or another representative may be available for open questions and clarifications from the FR audience.
- This thread, as with all other FR threads, will remain in the archives for future review and research.
Thank you for your participation!
PLEASE REFRAIN FROM POSTING UNTIL THE INTERVIEW IS COMPLETED. Thank you.

But I do believe preserving our history is very important. As I also do, ma'am. And I applaud your efforts with the local historic site.

Free Republic has done online fundraisers for its operations in the past. Would be it feasible for Free Republic to do an online fundraiser for Diana Irey?

Mrs. Irey, thank you for appearing. From your answers, and knowing your opposition, you strike me as a candidate conservatives can easily support. I have some followup questions, though I am unsure you will be appearing again.
1) Who should generally be inspecting mines and setting standards for mine safety?
2) What would your overall aim be insofar as Social Security, to generally continue the program and make it solvent?
3) Is there any federal firearm legislation you do support?

Any polls on how far/close Murtha is?

No fair posting her picture from her high school year book. :-)

Sorry, we're not legally organized to run fundraisers for outside parties. We are not a PAC. We might run afoul of state and federal regulations if we tried it.
To: Jim Robinson
That would be very interesting if you could get Murtha...please let us know.
Also, thanks for facilitating this conversation...
Now, does Diana have an account..and can we post to her after tonight?

"Any polls on how far/close Murtha is?"I don't live in the state so I have no idea.
