Two major issues were used by the President in the run up to war with Iraq. One was the WMD issue and the other was Iraq's support for Al Qaeda.
Since the war began in March 2003, the Democrats and media have repeatedly lied to the American public that Saddam didn't have a relationship with Al Qaeda or Osama bin Laden. They have been permitted to lie without challenge by Congressional Republicans or the President or his administration.
It is well past time that we educate Republican Congressmen and the conservative media, and try to encourage Tony Snow and Karl Rove on the importance of not letting this lie go unchallenged.
Since the 1990's, the media wrote dozens and dozens of articles about the world's alarm at the growing relationship Saddam and Iraqi military officers had with Al Qaeda and bin Laden. In the next post, I will detail some of those links.
Additionally, our very own freeper, translator and national treasure, jveritas, has translated documents which show that Saddam had direct ties to the Taliban in Afghanistan.
It is my firm belief that if more Americans knew about the relationships discussed above, support for the war and our beloved military would increase substantially. The media has gotten away with this lie for long enough.
I am looking for specific suggestions on how to get the word out to the administration with the suggestion they use this evidence of a relationship between Saddam and the jihadists more often, and how to directly write or call our Congressmen, the media, Ken Mehlman as Chair of the GOP, talk radio hosts, etc.
Peach you are a PEACH! Those links are priceless! Thanks for all your hard work. I'm going to start a series of posts on my blog about the Saddam - Al Qaeda connection. I'll do lots of links and trackbacks to help spread the word!
I'm with you, and will e-mail as many as I can. If anyone comes up with a "template letter" I'd be very interested in using it.
Thanks for all you do Peach.
Yellow Roses
Thank you so much, Chickenhawk!
Thank you for putting this altogether. I feel a letter to the editor coming on at least.
Good Lord, Peach! Very impressive. You should be working up at the big house with the Boss.
Some blogs are claiming he says that he's legally blind. We'll see. He sure doesn't look legally blind in Post #40.
I know a few people who are legally blind and they ALL use a cane.
I'm gonna have soooooo much fun with this :~)
You are more than welcome; use the information in good health and help get the word out.
Re my Post #87; I thought I was on another thread :-)
Oh, I thought it was me who was beside myself. Thanks for a great BIG FLAG DAY thread. True patriotism is a powerful thing.
I suspect there is little political benefit in arguing if we should have liberated Iraq now. The media and the rats think they can win points with it, but the administration clearly thinks the rats are shooting themselves in the foot. Perhaps the administration thinks a vigorous defense of policy is better timed closer to the elections.
You're welcome, vin.
Right! Go over to the offensive as hard as we can. And Snow seems to be doing a very good job of getting the Administration's point of view out (for once the WH press operation is working.)
In my town, by the way, we have one newspaper with no big cities near us. The editor is as left as one can go without being committed. The first amendment does not apply in this town. I would love to see someway of getting around these roadblocks. Another time.
I would have hestitated to support the sending in of ground troops if Bush had said that he knew Saddam already had them. Al Qaeda connection trumps WMD
Mark for later.
Great job, Peach! Alot of ammo here.
Hi Peach, please add me to your activism ping list.
Thank you.
