Two major issues were used by the President in the run up to war with Iraq. One was the WMD issue and the other was Iraq's support for Al Qaeda.
Since the war began in March 2003, the Democrats and media have repeatedly lied to the American public that Saddam didn't have a relationship with Al Qaeda or Osama bin Laden. They have been permitted to lie without challenge by Congressional Republicans or the President or his administration.
It is well past time that we educate Republican Congressmen and the conservative media, and try to encourage Tony Snow and Karl Rove on the importance of not letting this lie go unchallenged.
Since the 1990's, the media wrote dozens and dozens of articles about the world's alarm at the growing relationship Saddam and Iraqi military officers had with Al Qaeda and bin Laden. In the next post, I will detail some of those links.
Additionally, our very own freeper, translator and national treasure, jveritas, has translated documents which show that Saddam had direct ties to the Taliban in Afghanistan.
It is my firm belief that if more Americans knew about the relationships discussed above, support for the war and our beloved military would increase substantially. The media has gotten away with this lie for long enough.
I am looking for specific suggestions on how to get the word out to the administration with the suggestion they use this evidence of a relationship between Saddam and the jihadists more often, and how to directly write or call our Congressmen, the media, Ken Mehlman as Chair of the GOP, talk radio hosts, etc.

I remember this. I kept waiting for the press to pick up the story. I remember, at first, they were calling out for official translations and authentication. They invited anyone in the press to look at them and validate or invalidate them. I checked other blogs, and it was briefly discussed and then just disappeared from the radar. I mistakenly thought that they had been de-bunked.
That's what I get for thinking that the MSM wants the truth. Because they obviously don't. There is a blockbuster story here, if they could get beyond their agenda. Yeah, as if that is gonna happen. Sheesh.

Abdul Rahman Yasin arrived at roughly the same time. Yasin went to stay with his brother, Musab, who lived in Jersey City, in the same building as Mohammed Salameh, whom Musab knew well.

But Salameh looks to have been deliberately left behind by Yousef, not provided with money he needed for a plane ticket...Salameh had used Musab Yasin's phone number when renting the van, and Abdul Rahman Yasin was picked up the same day in a sweep of sites associated with Salameh. Abdul Rahman was taken to New Jersey FBI headquarters in Newark. He is reported to have been extremely cool, as a trained intelligence agent would be. He was helpful to investigators who themselves faced tremendous pressure to produce answers. He told them, for instance, the location of the apartment that was used to make the bomb, a key bit of information. They thanked him for his cooperation and let him walk out. This, although he had arrived just six months before from Iraq, and might well attempt to return there. And indeed, the very next day, Abdul Rahman Yasin boarded Royal Jordanian 262 to Amman, the same plane Salameh had hoped to catch. His companion, a Palestinian named Ahmad Ajaj, who arrived on a fake Swedish passport, was arrested and found to have bombmaking videos and manuals in his luggage.
Salameh entered the US in 1988 on a Jordanian passport and a visitors visa issued in Amman, Jordan. Abdel Rahman, an Egyptian religious leader charged with inciting a 1989 riot in Egypt, obtained a visa in Khartoum, Sudan which had no automated lookout system that would have identified him as a security threat. He entered as a tourist and applied for political asylum and received legal residence. An immigration judge ordered him deported in March, 1993, but he was still in the country four months later when he is arrested for terrorist acts.
