Great article.
From further into the body...
Appearing before the Commons Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development last year, Carleton University paleoclimatologist Professor Tim Patterson testified, "There is no meaningful correlation between CO2 levels and Earth's temperature over this [geologic] time frame. In fact, when CO2 levels were over ten times higher than they are now, about 450 million years ago, the planet was in the depths of the absolute coldest period in the last half billion years." Patterson asked the committee, "On the basis of this evidence, how could anyone still believe that the recent relatively small increase in CO2 levels would be the major cause of the past century's modest warming?"
Patterson concluded his testimony by explaining what his research and "hundreds of other studies" reveal: on all time scales, there is very good correlation between Earth's temperature and natural celestial phenomena such changes in the brightness of the Sun.
I recommend the entire article.

Yep. This is one of those I wish every American (especially those in school) would read. I hope the talk show hosts find it and read it. Please pass on to friends....and enemies!

I can't read this article. I died in the "coming Ice Age" that Newsweek predicted in the 1970s... the one that would wipe out the Earth before the end of the century if we didn't change our evil capitalistic ways and join the Church of Timothy Leary.
And I died after the Cold War ended in mutually assured nuclear destruction, obliterating the plant.
I also died during the worldwide riots and upheaval after Y2K.
And the Bird Flu has killed me like 3 times already.
So, you just keep your facts off my hysteria, buddy!

Gore was on Larry King last night. I'm sure King will have a couple of these scientists on to give the other side (BWAHAHAHA!)

Thank God that:
1. This imbecile Gore wasn't elected President.
2. That we have a President who can see through this BS.
To: Jack Bull
But surely Carter is merely part of what most people regard as a tiny cadre of "climate change skeptics" who disagree with the "vast majority of scientists" Gore cites? No; Carter is one of hundreds of highly qualified non-governmental, non-industry, non-lobby group climate experts who contest the hypothesis that human emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) are causing significant global climate change.
I find that the latest PR approach is to acknowledge that there are dissidents to the "Global Warming" argument, but they are mischaracterizing their own argument and that of the dissidents.
Very few people disagree that the earth is getting warmer.
However, MANY of us believe it is due to natural circumstances and NOT man-caused. There is a ton of evidence to support the argument that global warming is
- periodic
- related to earth's periodic change in solar orbit
- a CAUSE of C02 increases rather than CAUSED by it
And now for the obligatory "Global Warming Periodic Chart"...
Note that C02 *trails* global temperture.
Yes, this chart shows C02 has increased dramatically during the human-industrial age but I wonder if we will find that during the next ice age, C02 *saves* us from freezing over?

SARS, Ozone Holes, and DDT got me. I'm on my fourth life and just doomed it by eating at Kentucky FRIED Chicken last night.

So massive has been the disinformation and outright lying by the global warming proponents that I have had a tough time convincing even some Republicans that the global warming hysteria has its detractors. I have one that I will personally give a copy of this article to.
