A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Sunsets and Sunrises.. ah, they produce sighs and amazed responses from us, paintings, poetry & songs from the artists of the world and are a photobug’s glorious “hog heaven” !

Enjoy the pictures & share yours. I had about 75 in my stash & just am sharing a couple here. Also share your sunrise/sunset moments of joy or sadness

A melody & words from the musical Fiddler on the Roof - Teyve’s soulful offering.

Is this the little girl I carried?
Is this the little boy at play?
I don’t remember growing older,
When did they?

When did she get to be a beauty?
When did he grow to be so tall?
Wan’t it yesterday when they were small?

Sunrise sunset, sunrise, sunset,
Swiftly flow the days,
Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers,
Blossoming even as they gaze . . .

Sunrise sunset, sunrise, sunset!
Swiftly fly the years,
One season following another,
Laden with happiness and tears . . .

One season following another,
Laden with happiness and tears . . .

( sunrise, sunset, sunrise, sunset . . . )

Sunrise/Sunset(thanks Victoria!)

We could not have sunsets or sunrise glory without the sun. It is the most prominent feature in our solar system. It is the largest object and contains approximately 98% of the total solar system mass. One hundred and nine Earths would be required to fit across the Sun's disk, and its interior could hold over 1.3 million Earths. The Sun's outer visible layer is called the photosphere and has a temperature of 6,000°C (11,000°F). This layer has a mottled appearance due to the turbulent eruptions of energy at the surface.

Sunrises can be as beautiful.. funny how they are so colorful often from the pollutants in the air!!!!

I am a morning person & often see the sunrises & photograph them.

As I often do not go to bed before sunrise I ought to go outside and see if there is a good photo occasionally.

Wonderful. I have some I took in early 90s. I spent night on beach (yes in my jeep) often at Matagorda Beach. Small fishing area.. down the coast from your pix. I would be up very early to swim, beach comb before most of the fisherman arrived.

Loved padre island also. Matagorda is much more rugged

Oh, you're welcome, Dolly! I have enjoyed the day. I couldn't post that beautiful picture that she took without acknowledging it. I was hoping she'd show up. I have missed her. Her work is impeccable

thanks for the pix. do you vacation in Alaska or did you live there? The detailing is beautiful.

I am pinging the other thread posters to add you to the Ping Lost.

Each day is a little different at the Finest...supporting the military every day but emphasis on Monday & on Friday by wearing red.

Thanks! I was lucky enough to be asked to go on my guide's last trip, and was lucky enough to get a few good shots.
