You said, 'Maybe the helmet reminds him of work.'
Cute.
When I see someone riding without a helmet, I catch myself thinking, "Well, they don't have much brains in the first place, so why bother with a helmet?" Anyone motorcycling without a helmet gambles with stakes MUCH higher than any I'm willing to take.

Around here motorcyclists not wearing a helment are called "organ donors" by the cops.
Statistically they are right. About 80% of motorcycle deaths here are Harley riders not wearing helments. (no offense to Harley riders but the numbers don't lie.)

Try not to strain yourself.
The vast majority of automobile fatalities are the result of the head injuries sustained in the accident. I trust you wear your helmet while driving along in your Volvo . . .
BTW, the majority of motorcyclists are aware of the risks, which is more than can be said of automobile drivers; automobile fatalities outnumber motorcycle fatalities 100 to 1.

The same can be said every time I see a fata$$ pigging out at the buffet. There are far more in that category than in the helmetless-rider category. Maybe you should worry about them instead.

A $50 helmet to protect a $5 brain.
