How do you pronounce his last name, out of curiosity? Short or long a sound?

Prior to my remark. My respect to the judges family and my hopes that he recovers. That being said. It's prounounced *-s-s-h-o-l-e. This guy has been routing good men for a long time.

Being in Reno I was caught up in the news and this thread and lost focus.

Frady has been busy on the media lately. He was just on late last week due to a plane crashing into a house down the street from me.

Oh yeah. I have a strong opinion on this. I'm surprised judges (and attornneys) aren't dropping like flies. There must be more men controlled by their Christian conviction than many would have us believe.

I do think people are more controlled than many would have us believe. I also think you have taken a step off the deep end.

No. When people take the step off the deep end, one of two things happen: They end up on the street or they end up shooting someone (sometimes themself). My ordeal ended three years ago. My youngest is 19 and she moved in with us when she was 16. My last "alimony" check was also several years ago.

I forgive, but I will never forget what happened, and is still happening to men on a daily, no, hourly basis. Some simply have the cajoles to do something about it and have no Christian beliefs to hold them back. The rest have merely submitted to the alpha dog of the family court.

I have few complaints. OTOH, our divorce wasn't all that contentious, and we kept our focus on what was best for the children. I suppose I'm an exception that proves the rule. (I just can't seem to do anything normally...

I think you're the rule. There's a lot of male hysterics here that would make you think otherwise, but I think they're just the most vocal. OTOH, even misperceived unfairness can make someone do something insane.

BREAKING NEWS: Judge Weller Shot

UPDATE: Judge Weller is awake and talking to the medical staff, and is listed in serious condition.

Family Court judge Chuck Weller was shot Monday at the Washoe County courthouse complex in Reno, Monday morning. Weller was shot once in the chest, according to Reno Police.

A second person, Annie Allison, was in the Judges office at the time, and received minor shrapnel wounds to her arm and thigh.

A SWAT team is on the scene. Police have closed off several blocks around the courthouse just south of the Truckee River on the south end of Reno's downtown casino district.

The judge was shot in his chambers in Family Court section of the complex and the building was evacuated, Police Spokesperson Steve Frady told Newchannel 8.

Police do not know if the shots were fired inside the courthouse or if they came from outside. Police scanner traffic indicates officers also were searching parking garages in the area.

Police are still looking for a suspect.

No, he's not. My parents got divorced when I was eight. My grandparents on my mom's side did the same a few years before that. Several older couples I've known have split up as I was growing up. Every time I was amazed at the venal vindictive cruelty dsplayed, mostly on the part of the ex-wives.

He is not the rule. Most divorces ended very messily and the court system is rigged against men. To believe otherwise is to ignore the herd of elephants in the room.

And I've also overheard a number of wimin bragging about their divorces (Something that I've never heard a man do, BTW), how much they got, how long they can make him suffer, and why don't you get a divorce girl? You can have your own house, a steady leisure income, and as many boyfriends as you want...
