Lethally blonde
Ann Coulter has made a career out of saying the unthinkable. Last week the bestselling American author caused outrage when she described the widows of 9/11 as 'witches' who revelled in their husbands' deaths. Mixing soundbites with short skirts, this former lawyer has become the most extreme - and popular - polemicist in America. How did that happen?

"she described the widows of 9/11 as 'witches' who revelled in their husbands' deaths."
I keep reading this in the MSM over and over. Haven't actually read what Ann said yet, but my understanding is that she was talking about specific widows, not about all of them. So the MSM description of what she said seems inaccurate.

Actually John was pretty rotten to her or at least I thought so. John can be a little bit of a RINO at times. He said that his wife liked her but "why did she (Ann) have to be so mean??? These idiots just don't get what she is saying. Plus they haven't read the book. Of course I haven't either but have just ordered it.
I don't need to read it to know what she means.
I saw the Jersey Girls several times and I thought to myself that they seemed to be enjoying all the publicity that their husbands dying had brought them. I thought this long before Ann Coulter's book came out!!

Writer claims that Franken and Alterman have caught Ann in lies, but fails to mention any in this extremely long roll of used ass-wipe.

Notice they said Ann said widows of 9-11, not particular ones that she mentions in her book. That kind of fact error should be actionable.

but every time she writes a book - and Godless, published this week, is her fifth - it's an instant bestseller. Well, at least they recognize this. Why is it that conservative women are always criticized for their make-up and hair? It didn't hurt Katharine Harris, but when do they ever criticize Hillary's make-up or Madeleine Albright's hair?

I stand with Ann...No sane person would suggest a wife reveled in the tragedy of that day, but the 4 Jersey girls certainly have enjoyed the celebrity aftermath. That's the only way to read this and Coulter is correct.
The double whammy is that the publicity is generating nice books sales where the REAL lib killing occurs. Love her.

My Question is...why didn't they crawl all over these articles, essentially about the same subject:
Published on Thursday, May 13, 2004 by the New York Daily News
Wall Street Journal vs. 'Jersey Girls' by Lloyd Grove
Wall Street Journal pundit Dorothy Rabinowitz - who last month penned an acid assault on the "
Jersey Girls," four 9/11 widows who've dared to criticize the Bush administration - received some payback yesterday at the hands of "
Jersey Girl" Kristin Breitweiser.
The 33-year-old widow of portfolio manager Ron Breitweiser, who died in the collapse of the World Trade Center towers, gleefully shared with the Daily News Rabinowitz's intemperate and insulting response to Breitweiser's recent op-ed submission to the Journal enumerating "systemic" problems with government efforts to meet the terrorist threat.
The rest of the story...

How would you like to bet she made that Vietnam Vet quote to a particular Vietnam vet? One that she thinks is people like him who made us lose the war. I can think of one I'd say that to.

That kind of fact error should be actionable. It is, they will probably get a journalism award for that.

How did that happen? Well, she's smart and tough and pretty and welcome at humble Manor.
I guess that'll suffice.

Think Janet Reno. I'm sorry, but that is the ugliest woman on earth.

" I can think of one I'd say that to." Say, I'm not sure ... my memory could be faulty on this ... but didn't John Kerry spend a little time over there as a budding fiction writer and part-time gun-toter?

I've been saying it for over two years now. Before Mo Dowd came up with her "moral authority" comment concerning Cindy Sheehan. I'm glad to see someone else finally gets it. I was banned from a half dozen forums because of my position on the position of these twits which became painfully obvious in the run-up to the 911 commission. |

Mixing soundbites with short skirts, this former lawyer has become the most extreme - and popular - polemicist in America. Ann is not the most "extreme polemicist" just the most extreme on the conservative side.
Reid, Pelosi, Boxer, Schumer, Clinton, etc, are much more polemic than Ann is, they just aren't as pretty.
