Richmond, VA (AHN) - U.S. Senate candidate James H. Webb is being accused of disparaging his opponent's religion with a flier that shows the Jewish businessman with a hooked nose and money spilling from his pockets.
The Associated Press reports the flier is titled "Miller the Job Killer" and was intended to go to labor groups. It refers to Harris Miller, Webb's rival for the Democratic nomination in Virginia.
The AP reports the flier depicts Miller in a comic-book cartoon style. It shows him with a grotesquely hooked nose and money spilling from his suit pockets. He is shown ordering a subordinate to find ways to export U.S. jobs overseas. The flier calls Miller the "anti-Christ of outsourcing."
Miller tells the AP the flier is "despicable." He says, "One of the things I hoped we would keep out of this campaign, because it has nothing to do with the campaign, is my religion and my background."
Webb apologized if the flier was perceived as insulting Miller's religion or heritage. He says, "I would not in any way look at that and say that it was anti-Semitic. Harris is the one who's played the race card in this campaign by distorting my views on affirmative action."
The winner of Tuesday's democratic primary will challenge incumbent Sen. George Allen.
Just another day for this POS.
So where is a picture of the flier?
Webb fits in well with the DemocRAT party.

From the other thread that just popped up on this topic:

let 'em eat each other; it's great entertainment.
Unreal. You'd think politicians would be smart enough to know this sort of thing will backfire nowadays. In most cases anyway. It's OK for Cynthia McKinney and some others to be anti-Jewish though, of course. The Dems will tolerate that.
Nowadays, being an anti-Semite is a plus in a Democratic primary.
WAKE UP!!!
This piece of human garbage thinks he's Julius Streicher.
As a lifelong Republican (back to Goldwater days) and as a Jew myself, I ask the same questions. When will the Jewish Community "wake up" and realize that the Democratic Party only tolerates them for their $$ and votes. Rumor has it that number one on that list is Hillary Clinton who has made comments (in private) disparaging Jews.
The caricature looks like Miller and I wouldn't doubt, being a lib, he's a tad greedy. And Webb never called Jews the "anti-Christ".
You know, it drives me nuts. One of our Political Science profs--an ardent old line Marxist--told me the other day how proud she was that some of our students were flying the Palestinian flag out of their dorm window. Then she realized that she may have made a mistake telling me that (duh!) and amended it to say that she was just glad that students were being active.
No she wasn't. My students tell me that she rails against the murderous imperialistic Israelis all the time in class--the baby killers. It is like fighting jello though; I think most American liberals are so caught up in their own soft fantasy lives that they fail to grasp what it takes to keep them (and us) safe and what endangering the bulwarks of Western Civilization (which include Jews and Israel) might mean to them.
McVey
If anything, the flier seems to underestimate Mr. Miller's nose, which is unusually large and definitely has the kind of kink in it that the flier shows. How showing Miller as he is (or better) can be interpreted as antisemitic is beyond me.
The antichrist remark is another matter, but I think a mountain is being made out of a molehill.
Thanks for the links, after seeing the flier I don't get the criticism.
Either this is about inside stuff I don't get, or this is a case of oversensitivity which "victim" groups have in abundance.
I would rather have Allen face Miller than Webb, but I don't think that is going to happen. Even though I have already contributed three times to the Allen campaign, I am seriously thinking of voting for Miller on Tuesday. It's an open primary.
I saw these two guys appear on Chwissy Mathews in what Mathews billed as a debate. Neither guy wanted to take much of a postion on anything which means they would feel at home with that present treacherous bunch running the Senate. They were so weak that they made Chwissy look like an adult, a role that Mathews is very ill suited to play.
