Iraqi PM: Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi Killed
By PATRICK QUINN BAGHDAD, Iraq Jun 8, 2006 (AP) Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the al-Qaida-linked militant who led a bloody campaign of suicide bombings, kidnappings and hostage beheadings in Iraq, has been killed in a U.S. air raid north of Baghdad, Iraq's prime minister said Thursday.
Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said al-Zarqawi was killed Wednesday evening along with seven aides.

Either something really big is going on here in my small town or else the police, ambulance and fire are celebrating because I heard them go roaring with sirens down my street. All of the dogs are barking their fool heads off!

Do you think this will make a difference, Allegra? We were just discussing this. Tnis will probably be demoralizing for al-Qaeda.
We don't really know what will happen, but we are guessing that there might be a brief retaliatory spike in violence, but perhaps after that, they'll either be in "regrouping" mode or maybe they'll finally realize they're not going to GET Iraq.
