Hackett also is irritated at Democratic Rep. John Murtha of Pennsylvania, a decorated Marine veteran who has been briefed by military officials on the Haditha deaths and has said that U.S. troops "overreacted because of the pressure on them." Hackett said Murtha is feeding an image of traumatized, out-of-control soldiers like characters in the movies "Rambo" and "The Deer Hunter."
"With one broad stroke, he's recklessly indicted all those Marines ... I don't know if he's gotten addicted to the microphones and the cameras. For him to continue to foam at the mouth, it's irresponsible, it's stupid, it's wrong."
Murtha's office didn't respond to a phone call seeking comment.

You're right. The only thing Jack Murtha is hawkish about is defense appropriations that end up with his name over the door.
Bet his two purple hearts are because he lost his balls.
Kerry got three because he lost his balls and his brains.
I like this Hackett guy (for Dimocrat) he goes out and tells this vomitus Democrat that he is full of excrement when he obviously is seeking face time and approval of the fringe left.
Yes, you have it just exactly right. LOL!
Sounds like somebody is missing the spotlight!
Well put!
As for what John Murtha doesn't know....well we don't have enough time to go into that.
With the MSM, any Liberal/Democrat that even has ever WORN a uniform is portryed as some Audie-Murphy-Type "hero", whether or not they ever were in combat or harm's way, or they sat behind a desk in some non-functional aide capacity.....their voterbase is clueless, and they gobble it all up because they've never been there, either.....sad
Murtha's announcement that he'll be "running" for Speaker if the Dims retake the House 'splains (as Ricky would say) a lot. He's a delusional zero, driven by nothing but ambition, an ambition completely unsuited to his abilities or appeal. I suppose he figgers, "Wot the hey, if Nancy can do it, why can't I?"
What a blithering idiot.
I'm happy about it, actually. Not only has he angered a few Dems, but let him be distracted by this pursuit of a leadership position. I'd prefer he not even pay attention to Diana Irey and a group of very angry veteran supporters... until it's too late. :-)
Point is, in the "Is he an unprincipled idiot?" or "Is he on to something?" debate, this provides further evidence of the former hypothesis.
You won't get any argument from me. :-)
