When President Bush nominated Gen. Michael Hayden to run the CIA, the press focused on disapproving Democrats and even some Republicans who were dubious about confirmation.
A month later, when the Senate confirmed Hayden by a 78-15 vote, the story was given much less emphasis in the media, which had moved on to other stories critical of the Bush administration.
Similarly, when Bush nominated one of his aides, Brett Kavanaugh, to the federal judiciary, the press was filled with reports about Democrats threatening a filibuster because Kavanaugh once worked for special prosecutor Kenneth Starr in the case against President Clinton.
Last week, there was much less media coverage of a Rose Garden ceremony in which Bush presided over the swearing-in of Kavanaugh, who had been confirmed by a 57-36 vote.
Bush has quietly been racking up small victories like these that seem at odds with the medias conventional wisdom of a presidency on the skids.
In addition to success with his nominations, Bush also is presiding over a booming economy and ...
The White House remains convinced it is not getting a fair shake from the mainstream media.
President Bushs leadership is achieving a steady flow of results that do not always dominate the days headlines on their own but that together represent real progress for the American people, ...

As to ideas like No Child is not conservative - ponder this issue...80 of the people in prison can't read. If you teach kids to read do you cut the prison population? Isn't reading and a common education system, that turns out great minds, necessary to win in a global battle for new products? Do you want a permanent underclass that we have to support either with jails or welfare? Education is the key. NCKB is a win.
How about the drug bill? - well the price of drugs are down and most seniors are paying less so the cost is lower than the critics claimed. In addition, the democrats have not been able to complain about drugs and gain seats in Congress. Oh, did you notice that in 6 years the Republican party has gained seats in every election since President Bush took office - never been done before. Looks like a win to me. /rant off
You would have to ask a speaker of that language.
Yup
Do you think that Bolton is better at running the UN and Roberts at running the Supreme Court?
I think the UN should be evicted yesterday...
Did you notice the tax cuts? Bush has had plenty of wins.
At what cost? I'm all for tax cuts but why should i be paying for Iraqi healthcare?

Now you went and did it! I think the No Child concept is the most empty-headed idea to ever come down the Beltway. What happened to our education system in this country? I'll tell you, the dumbing down of the system so statistically the numbers look great - thus - the funding doesn't stop. Schools are passing morons and holding them under no scholastic accountability. Force students to respect authority instead of empowering them to misbehave. Make teachers teach. To hell with making it so simple to matriculate from public education a soap dish could do it! We don't need any legislation for that. Make school a place to learn again and watch the illiteracy rate say bye bye.

Here's a wild concept - stop taxing social security! As far as the Republicans gaining seats ... they better get their fat arses busy and gain back the party because the ship has no tiller and is being piloted by the winds of popular opinion. Give me back my party of backbone!
Yep. The bias is not only in what the MSM reports but in what they don't report.
Thank you for your positive post.
If a conservative makes one mistake, it is breaking news for months.
If a liberal makes dozens of mistakes, the old media is silent.
It is nice to see one positive editorial.
All these, "Victories" won't be too valuable when our country is overrun with the ILLEGALS that Bush and the Senate want in here so badly. There's no logic in Bush's guest worker hogwash or the Senate's 600-page scrawlings. We have enough unemployed people that have been made that way because the ILLEGALS are taking their jobs. After all, isn't this supporting the right for businesses to continue their ILLEGAL activity? Hence, Bush and the Senate are supporting ILLEGAL activity...
