June 7, 2006 -- WASHINGTON - Conservative rabble-rouser Ann Coulter created an uproar among 9/11 victims' families yesterday after she charged in her new book that a group of "self-obsessed" politically active widows are enjoying their husbands' deaths.
The razor-tongued blond polemicist made unflattering remarks about the high-profile widows who liked to call themselves the "Jersey girls." In Coulter's latest book, "Godless," she calls them "harpies" and the "Witches of East Brunswick."

The list is too long. Coulter is on the list of those who are. She joins Buchanan, PC Roberts, Roy Moore, Michelle Malkin, and Richard Viguerie. Peggy Noonan has one foot on the list and is slipping with each column.
LOL!
"every man's ex-wife"? that rejoinder is sort of like the a'are you still beating your wife" accusation....every wife is a potential ex-wife...and very few ex-wives are amiable (but of course, none as formidable as opponent as ann would be)....
"if men can picture..." well, that's the definition of intimidation....:-)
Self ping..
I have to disagree with you about Michelle Malkin and Peggy Noonan, but I am afraid Coulter is becoming the "Michael Savage" of conservative women.
An excellent point, Joe...
Wait, I thought Madeleine Albright was the cleaning lady?
To what RINOs?.. You can remove the democrat from the party but its hard to remove the democrat from the democrat.. Liberalism is a mental disease you see.. based in envy..
Socialism is Slavery by Givernment... pure and simple..
If they had any sense they wouldn't even BE democrats..
An ex-democrat is usually a RINO.. same thing really..
You know, a BIG Givernment republican...
Yeehaw....a Classic !
Your sarcasm is so funny and I just never know when I take a sip of coffee if someone like you is gonna make me spray. STOP
Gosh, hope she has time to go to the ladies room!
i really can't argue with that...she already has a firm base, i'm included, but there are others, even myself, who feel a little uneasy at times with some of the comments...
"If Ann is not married, I can't know for sure but I'm guessing it's by choice. She's looks good for her age, is attractive, is famous and makes good money. With those factors I'm sure she can have her pick."
She dated Bill Mahr.
She may be smart about politics and social issues, but she has LOUSY taste in guys.
You can talk all you want about her public persona, but we don't know what she's like in the morning, and THAT probably has more to do with her single status than her wealth and fame. :)
"Our ports have not been secured. Our borders have not been secured. We still haven't caught [Osama] Bin Laden," Van Auken said yesterday.
Was there anything in that sentence that wasn't true?
Nah, I'll just call you both supercilious because you preen about how you're better than those you disagree with.
Adj. 1. supercilious - having or showing arrogant superiority to and disdain of those one views as unworthy; haughty, prideful, sniffy, swaggering, lordly, disdainful
Politics ain't beanbag guys. AC's rhetoric pulls no punches; that you fellows do, displays an unseemly attempt to put your brothers (and sisters) in arms down by trumpeting how goo-goo you are. As Homer Simpson said: "BOR--ING."
You are wrong. In my neck of the woods, there are still a few "I vote for democrats because my daddy and my granddaddy did", yellow dog, but otherwise conservative democrats (especially socially). We also have many Dem politicians down here pretending to be just as conservative as their constituents, but a good pursuasive argument is to show the voting records of those politicians (Junior Ford), and especially who their allies are. Very few southern Dems are Kennedy liberals. Many are like Zell Miller. Those people can be reached.
Two out of three are nearly impossible, and the third is non-critical. What's the point? MINDSET/RESOLVE is key; not token efforts to appease spenders.
You misread the question. I said "not detrimental." You listed those who are detrimental. I say again, whom do you feel is not detrimental to conservatives?
And demonstrate Ann's point.
