Harris Campaign Calls on Nelson to Defend Sanctity of Marriage
For Immediate Release June 6, 2006 Contact: Chris Ingram (813) 288-8400
(Tampa, Fla.) - The Katherine Harris for U.S. Senate campaign called on Senator Bill Nelson to support the Marriage Protection Amendment today.
"I believe the majority of Americans strongly support the preservation of traditional marriage. We must never undermine the uniqueness of an institution that continues to serve as an essential thread in the fabric of our society. I support the passage of the Marriage Protection amendment being debated in the Senate," Congresswoman Harris said.
Campaign spokesman Chris Ingram said, "It's time for Nelson to stop making bogus claims of being a moderate in Florida while voting like Ted Kennedy in Washington, D.C. Bill Nelson should stop voting like a liberal and start voting with the values of common-sense Floridians.
A good first-start would be by voting in favor of the marriage amendment which simply defines marriage as a union between one man and one woman."

Time for Nelson to demonstrate that he's not a liberal like...... kennedy, kerry & klinton!
Good stuff. Hold that blithering idiot's feet to the fire.
I'm just here for the obligatory pictures.
They most certainly do not.
That's why we're here.
1) It is permanent.
2) It is sexually exclusive.
3) It is between a man and at least one woman.
Which of these does Mrs. Harris support?
This could be her ticket to the senate.
I don't care which party you belong to, a vast majority of Americans don't support GM.
She is being smart here by making him take a definitive stand.
What do you want to bet he answers in nuanced tones???
Go KH!

I hate to pop her bubble, but the 10 million couples living together outside of marriage and the 1 million divorces a year pose an infinitely greater danger to marriage than the piddly 6000 same sex marriages in Massachusetts. I'm trying to figure out how any of those 6000 are endangering my marriage.
Why in God's name do we need a bill that favors marriage. I believe most people do.
Marriage is what it is.
If Congress declared that all animal tails were all now legs, it would change nothing at all.
Hope you'll join us as her campaign moves along this summer.

Traditional marriage has three partners,God, the male and the female.
Because we have judges who don't favor traditional marriage and are changing the will of the people.
We need this amendment because while Forty-three states have statutes defining marriage to one man and one woman... activist liberal judges (most recently in Georgia) have been saying those statutes are unconstitutional.
So we need to make the definition of traditional marriage part of our national Constitution.
Good for you, Congresswoman!! The Dems are out there hollering, "we've got more important business to tend to" and "this administration is just trying to appeal to their radical right-wing base" and other things from their talking points memo so that they don't have to take a stand on this issue. They know full well that a good number of even Dems hold to the sanctity of traditional marriage, and they don't want to be on record one way or another lest they pit one special interest group against another.
Conservative women are good-looking AND smart!
If sanctioned within the law, those 6000 same sex marriages will be telling our children and grandchildren that sexual perversion is normal. It's okay. Come on and try it, you will like it.
