PETA TO ‘BARBECUE’ A ‘HUMAN CORPSE’ TO SHOW THAT MEAT IS MURDER
PETA Media Center ^ | June 6, 2006 | Mike Brazell

Posted on 06/06/2006 9:44:22 AM PDT by presidio9

Topeka, Kan. — Hoping to prompt Topeka’s lunch crowd into realizing that whether fish, foul—or even Frank!—a corpse is a corpse, PETA will slather a 10-gallon-hat-wearing effigy of a cowboy with barbecue sauce and pretend to cook "him" on a mock grill downtown tomorrow. PETA’s point? That all animals are made of flesh, bone, and blood, just as humans are, and that eating meat entails eating the corpse of an animal who was an individual with feelings, a family, and a distinct personality. In addition to the "human barbecue," activists will hold signs that read, "Meat Is Murder," and give out delicious vegetarian riblet sandwiches to curious passersby:

Date: Wednesday, June 7 Time: 12 noon-1 p.m. Place: Corner of S.W. Eighth and S. Kansas avenues

"People are understandably revolted by the idea of eating a human corpse, which is exactly why they should also lose their appetites at the thought of eating an animal corpse—to smell them cooking, you can’t tell the difference," says PETA Campaign Coordinator Mike Brazell.

They worship the creation, not the Creator. Straight from Romans 1:21-32!

I wonder what the "effigy corpse" is made of. Are they environment friendly burnable?

Where's are the environmentalist nutcases on this?

The upper levels of Peta are just full of evil people. The ends justify the means for these folks. They twist Scripture and find distorted 'pastors' to somehow force people to not eat meat 'because Jesus didn't' - which is a lie.

In the last few years I have become an animal welfare advocate, helping out rescue groups and volunteering to care for animals at my local shelter. But I'm also a biblical Christian and understand the concept of biblical stewardship. Eco-terrorists and animal-RIGHTS (not animal WLEFARE) the like are not good Christian stewards. All the hijinks and equating human life with animal life, the case where a few of their members were killing animals they were supposedly rescuing from shelters, burning and vandalizing cars and burning down housing, this is evil.

Apparently, you chosen to be an ostrich. Such hatred for science!

The "overgrazing" myth comes from idiots like those with PETA, and too many others eat it up.

A ranching and farming mountain basin near me once hosted over 60,000 people (about 100 years ago). They made that semi-arid, high-altitude, very dry place somewhat fertile for a few decades. Now there are only a few hundred people there (very lazy people, for the most part) and not many cattle. ...virtually no gardens. We are watching the unfertilized soil in that basin blow away year after year, just as it was doing 150 years ago.

Does a banana scream when you peel it?

No, but the modest ones blush.

if eating meat is sooooo baddd for you how come in nature the animals that eat meat like sharks tigers cougars and hawks are all lean and muscular but animals that are vegetarain or herbivores are slow and fat like hippos elephants cows mantatees etc.

OK, here's my recipe. Baby back or St. Louis ribs. wrap in foil with crushed garlic and crushed fresh basil, nothing else and cook in a slow over for two or three hours. ... depends on the amount of meat, how slow, how long. I change it every time. Last time was good though but I forget. Anyway, till done. Then put on the grill and slather in Gates BBQ sauce. Turn and grill till crispy and a tiny bit burnt. Serve with killer salad and garlic toast. yum

I dunno, maybe because grass doesn't run away when you try and eat it?

I'm a vegetarian (lacto-ovo, since I don't have the self-destructive streak that being a vegan requires), but I might be persuaded to make an exception for barbecued PETA-wacko.
