Topeka, Kan. Hoping to prompt Topekas lunch crowd into realizing that whether fish, foulor even Frank!a corpse is a corpse, PETA will slather a 10-gallon-hat-wearing effigy of a cowboy with barbecue sauce and pretend to cook "him" on a mock grill downtown tomorrow. PETAs point? That all animals are made of flesh, bone, and blood, just as humans are, and that eating meat entails eating the corpse of an animal who was an individual with feelings, a family, and a distinct personality. In addition to the "human barbecue," activists will hold signs that read, "Meat Is Murder," and give out delicious vegetarian riblet sandwiches to curious passersby:
Date: Wednesday, June 7 Time: 12 noon-1 p.m. Place: Corner of S.W. Eighth and S. Kansas avenues
"People are understandably revolted by the idea of eating a human corpse, which is exactly why they should also lose their appetites at the thought of eating an animal corpseto smell them cooking, you cant tell the difference," says PETA Campaign Coordinator Mike Brazell.

No, it has to do with both. Read it again.
It specifically says, "3 Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything. "
Problem: effigies are not made of flesh. Kills their point, doesn't it?
Nice grpl logo.
:>)
You borrowin' or buyin'?
BFD.... I was hoping they were actually going to serve long pig.
Pussies! If they were REALLY serious about this, a PETA member would volunteer to be barbequed.
How can that photo be for real. That's SICK!!!!
Hope they provide the "Fava beans and a nice chianti", although I'm partial to fried collard greens and black-eyed peas myself.
I'll have to check it out.
I just know my macabre historical facts, that's all.
*g*

Apparently, he demanded his $400 million retirement package in singles. And then ate them. ALL of them.
On April 16, 1874, Packer arrived alone at Los Pinos Indian Agency near Gunnison. He spent some time in a Saguache, Colorado bar, meeting several of his previous party. He initially claimed self-defense, but his story did not pass in court. During the trial, the judge is widely reputed to have said:
- " you, Alferd Packer! There were seven Dimmycrats in Hinsdale County and you ate five of them!"
I've heard that anecdote.
Personally, I think Democrats would be rather dry and stringy, but that's just me.
Yes! A real BBQ needs to be smokin' right across the street! With mascots dressed in cute furry cow and pig costumes that say EAT ME!
This is the part I was referring to that some claim means that God forbids us to eat meat.
If a PETA activist and I were trapped in the mountains, say at a place like Donner Pass, I know who'd survive.
OK. I see.
I misunderstood your post. Sorry.
Funny they always try to make their bogus veg foods "taste like meat," too.
