We're all 'interdependent,' Clinton says at Princeton (Pre-Commencement "Kegger")

Former President Bill Clinton weighed in on the nation's immigration debate, took a lighthearted jab at a prominent Republican and told Princeton University graduates to take advantage of their unprecedented power in a speech Monday at the school.

"We have to make more partners and fewer terrorists," Clinton said.

He told the graduates, whose commencement takes place Tuesday, that their Princeton education and connections give them "an enormous personal power in an interdependent world."

He said the world is increasingly interconnected, meaning greater opportunity for more people with worldwide trade, widespread travel, more easily available information and greater diversity.

"Think about how much more interesting you are than the Princeton Class of 1906," he said, "A bunch of boring white guys like me."

He warned that the interdependence also comes with shared worldwide vulnerability to problems such as terrorism, avian flu, global warming and energy shortages.

A key to coping with those challenges is finding common ground, said Clinton, who praised President Bush for trying to do so with a proposed immigration policy that would tighten border enforcement and let some undocumented residents become citizens.

"I sort of favor what the president tried to do because we were trying to get the best of both worlds. There is no perfect solution," he said.

Clinton was the headliner at Class Day, part of the tradition-rich pomp surrounding commencement at the Ivy League school.

The graduates wore black and orange "beer jackets" to the ceremony.

Clinton graduated from Princeton in 1906? Huh. I didn't know that. And has he ever said one single sentence without "I," "me," or "mine" in it?

He could finance the entire career of a shrink.

"We have to make more partners and fewer terrorists,"

As Stewey would say on 'The Family Guy,' "That's brilliant, just brilliant. Ooooh. You're so smart."

Did anyone ask Clinton what he did to curb terrorism in the 90s? Or why he didn't take Osama Bin Laden when he was offered to him?

So, Bill, your white and graduated from Yale. What gave you the right to do so and not other white people? Why didn't you give up your seat at Yale for a minority?

Racist.

Leave it to billyblytheclinton, the fat, vicious bastard from the wrong side of the tracks to claim that WE make terrorists.

I have hated very few people in my long life, but...

Clinton should get down give a prayer to thanks to the Lord for giving him Ross Perot. Without Ross Clinton would have just been another former governor scandal.
