A Few Facts About Haditha Philip V. Brennan Wednesday, May 31, 2006 [.....]Put the word Haditha in Google and you find reams of stories all but shouting Hallelujah over what they're calling the new My Lai – the alleged massacre of innocent civilians in Haditha.[.....]Hardly mentioned at all in the hysterical coverage of Haditha is the nature of this city hard by the Syrian border. If you think Fallujah was a hornet's nest of insurgency, you should take a look at Haditha and what the Marines have been facing there. [.....]"U.S. Marines and members of Iraqi Special Forces on Thursday uncovered a sizable weapons cache hidden in a shrine and yard adjacent to a mosque in east-central Haditha, close to the Euphrates River, and continued to uncover deadly buried roadside bombs. The city itself is almost literally an improvised explosive device (IED) field," CNN reported.[.....]"Marines have been finding suspicious wires protruding from the asphalt throughout the city. Buried underneath are usually two to four 155 mm rounds and sometimes propane tanks." [.....]

Knight Ridder called Haditha, a town of about 100,000 people, "an insurgent bastion," reporting that "insurgents blend in with the residents, setting up cells in their homes next to those belonging to everyday citizens, some of them supportive." Knight Ridder said that around the time of the August attack, when a total of 20 U.S. Marines were killed in two days, "several storefronts were lined with posters and pictures supporting al Qaeda. As somebody mentioned this weekend on "Fox News Watch", this war has been fought for The Media and the lawyers. In fact this war has been and is currently being more ably fought by a "drive by media"-savvy Al-Qaida, whose apparent strategy seems to be to continually tie the hands of our military into public relations knots at home, through energy and treasure-sapping philisophical battles of constitutional versus military law. It seems Al-Qaida has keyed in on the fact we've become a self-flagellating society since we left Viet Nam. They've keyed in on the encumbering, overly developed sense of guilt of Western civilized society. We are choking on it! Haditha simply underscores this once again.

I blame the immigration people who seem to care NOTHING about other issues while they are freaking out on that single issue.

Without question the PR campaign of this WOT has to date been on by our enemies (which of course the MSM are in all honesty helping them to win) -

With that said...The RNC / WH need to start running some type of TV ad campaign showing much of our successes in this WOT over the last 4 years...An ad campaign that also honors our soldiers and rallies around our men and women in the field.

Full heartedly assuring them (and telling the rest of the world) how brave, dedicated and respected we know them to be. Tout how they are risking their lives daily (and have been! for the past 4 years) in this WOT.

Tout their sacrifices and their selflessness they show in over abundance to Iraqi's and Afghani's at the risk of their own lives (again on a daily basis). Assure their families the CIC / RNC believes in these warriors and have no doubt they are the best on earth.

This is the type of ad campaign that would be a boost for our fighting men and women (and their families) while also putting a clear distinction to the American public between us and the Democrat party - A party that is clearly anti-military, anti-success in the WOT.

That is "been won to date by our enemies" (with support from our MSM).

Insurgents in Haditha executed 19 Shiite fishermen and National Guardsmen in a sports stadium."

Our Marines did not kill these people.

The terrorists did.
