You both deserve the recognition.

Nothing is more satisfying than dissection of the lies and misleading statements by the Democrats and MSM being exposed.

The President is President of ALL the people, not just the "Conservatives" he does NOT have the freedom to go out and act like your favorite Talk Radio host. People need to wake up to the fact that this is NOT sports. The President has to work with these people day in and day out. He does NOT get to act like Mike Savage. Savage and his ilk can scream bile at everyone. It doesn't matter if he totally alienates a large segment of the political class. A President does NOT have that luxury. I know this is going to surprise a LOT of people but a President cannot just issue orders to Congress. The ONLY tool he has is persuasion. He has to talk people into following his lead. Given the grotesque oversizes egos Congressional service seems to breed, he doesn't have the luxury of chewing out the opposition no matter how much he would like to.

What a great post documenting the sleeze of the left willing to sell their vote for any expedience of the moment. Wrong or right be damned. How can such a political party even exist?

It is sad how the English language has been bastardized in order to make cheap shots.

I agree, but at the same time we do have to admit that "the mother tongue" is a bit of a bastard itself.  Rules aren't rules, we have always borrowed from other languages liberally without batting an eye and the meanings of words are... flexible, shall we say.  And that's why it is possible to say things in English that are not possible in any other language.

All you have to do is let go and embrace the chaos.

Now Latin is a disciplined language.  You say what you say and that's what it means, thank you very much.  You know someone's really good at Latin when they can make up good puns.  That takes skill.  Puns and double entendres, intentional or not, are way too easy in English.  If you don't watch out you'll find yourself insulting someone without realizing it.

All this may be so we can claim we tried everything we could, it may be to call their bluff, it may be used to bring the Security Council onboard, etc. Rather than jump on the good versus bad bandwagon, the answer is probably another wait and see situation to learn what happens.

There is no doubt that our conditional participation in multilateral talks with the Iran is part of the international kabuki dance we must do to garner the approbation of world opinion and the UN, which unfortunately many think we need its stamp of approval to defend our national interests.

The Iranians will drag this out and keep the issue on the world's front burner. Iranian nationalism will be stirred and domestic opposition muted. It even has the practical effect of raising the price of oil, giving them more money to fund their support of terrorism.

My only fear is that the US will wind up being humiliated and forced to accept a less than desireable solution after being pressured by the EU, China, and Russia, which have their own reasons for preserving good relations with the Iranian regime.

I am very curious to see if Rockefeller shows up when the Senate goes back into session. I will actually be surprised if he does.

#376, Tremendous, informative post. It lays all the treachery out there for all of us to see. Here is hoping it makes a difference and he loses his race and is indicted and put in an Alzheimer's Home.

I understand your fears, and agree. Either way, Democrats and the MSM will portray us as not doing the right thing.

I have to believe it's all strategy, one way or another. We are not privy to the thinking and long term planning of it. Many people were opposed to UN Resolution 1441 at the time but it ended up as the basis for action later on. Even later than that, 1441 became the defense of our actions when the media and Democrats started their predictable second guessing.

"Hannity can be a good, aggressive interviewer when he wants to be, but whenever he interviews tv media bigshots, whether it's Russert or the ABC tv news people (whom he apparently thinks of as his cohorts more than anyone working at Fox News) Hannity goes easy, as if building connections with the MSM is important."
I agree. I have never trusted Hannity because of the way he sucks up to MSM liberals like Russert, Schieffer, Stephi, Sawyer, on and on. He will rail against the MSM but never mentions names. That is why I consider him such a phony. That and his subservient interviews with McCain. His dream is to appear on one of the sunday morning shows like MTP.

Are you inferring that CNN is desperate for ratings or that the rats hate Rummy?--Either way you are more than correct.Actually it's not just Rummy they hate, Scooter, DeLay, Rove GWB, just about anyone who is in power on our side, they are equal opportunity haters.

I saw the ratings for the sunday morning political shows, and the one that lost the most last year was FNS. When Tony Snow was host they always increased viewers every year. Hiring Wallace, a New York liberal like Russert, was a brilliant move. I suppose the brains at FNS thought that the key to beating MTP was to have someone just like Russert.
