The Talk Shows
Sunday, June 4th, 2006
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice; Sens. Jack Reed, D-R.I., and Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del.; former U.N. chief weapons inspector Hans Blix.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Former Vice President Al Gore; author John Updike.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Rice; Blix; Sens. George Allen, R-Va., and Carl Levin, D-Mich.
But...but...Hans Blix a/k/a Mr. Magoo, just assured everyone that the WMD were destroyed in 1991, period.
There are some, such as G. Gordon, to whom that might apply. There are others, who re-offend once they are out, that should not have that right returned. Punishment should mean punishment.
Panel will discuss Gore next. I have to go help my husband with a project for a few minutes, so I hope someone else can catch what they say.
Makali annoucned last week:
#1 If the blocks can not find a suitable person for the positions by next sunday, he would think about using his constituional mandate to appoint them (he then put the names out as feelers)
#2 Iraqi-led 'gloves-off' crackdown intended to target both AQ remants and insurgent factions. Wanted to wait until postions were filled to carry it out.
I suspect Hannity sees it as part of the old boy network and you never know when you might need them to get you a job.
On other issues though I agree he has been a good voice for Conservatives and the Republican Party even if at time he can be a bit knee jerk and go off at half cock.
The chances of Iran agreeing to the preconditions, IMHO: Slim to none. Relax ;-)
I also wouldn't count on Russia and China for much support. Russia is building their nuclear reactors and China is buying up long term oil contracts from Iran. Sanctions will not work very well.
Thanks. Graham was just the first one I heard use it. To me, there's a certain charm in the way southerners address issues like this and his saying it stuck with me. It may also be why southerners so many times make good politicians and speakers.
Are you serious??
I agree Iran is never going to comply with the terms to actually talk.
Senator Biden
Speaking of mine own fine senator....
His son, Beau Biden, is running for Attorney General here in the swamps of Delaware.
the local GOP here, a pathetic bunch as you might imagine in this home of the RINO, is trying to prevent him from getting the position. It is so obviously a case of nepotism and sweet Beau is no more ready to do that job than mine own non-legal trained self.
But Hairplugs wants his son in and Hairplugs controls EVERYTHING in this state.
The GOP is running Ferris Wharton, the prosecutor who ran the Thomas Capano case. Wharton is waaaaaay better than Beau.
Alas, the dead vote in Wilmington and they vote often. Oddly, the dead usually vote Democrat.
Oh, good news. Al Gore looked relaxed at the opening of his film. ;-)
I wouldn't rule that out. The Iranians are just dragging things out. They are rug merchants. I lived in Iran for a few years and know how they negotiate. They like to take you right up to concluding a deal and then change the conditions at the last minute in hopes that your eagerness to stike a deal will result in some last minute concessions.
Hahahah, Timmy just said Algore voted against the war. From what elected position did he do that, Timmy?
Yup! Those two idiots should take all the millions of dollars they are going to waste on a presidential bid and donate it to the poor.
Thanks, Samantha.
The offer to sit down and talk with Iran will be added to the list of things we can say we tried when we bomb the hell out of them.
Don't get me started on the totally biased reporting of our economic situation. Ever since Bush was first elected the media have used their influence to talk down our economy.
Even while reporting a 4.6% unemployment rate, the next word in every report is "but" followed by some number that has moved in a negative direction. As in: but jobs increased by only x amount instead of the anticipated y amount.
I ask, if there are only 4.6% of the job force looking for work, and there are more people working in America than at any time in our history, where are the new jobs to come from. The two numbers can not both proceed in a positive [positive meaning better] direction indefinitely.
