We should refuse to defend Hans' home country with our anti-ballistic missile defense systems, until we hear something much more positive from his country's leadership.

The US must abandon its "war on terror" to prevent the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, according to the former United Nations' chief weapons inspector, Hans Blix. He's right. Until we change to a "War on Iran" there's no way to stop the proliferation. ;)

So is he saying that fighting evil is futile?
Guess we should all just buy our prayer rugs and grow beards.

[Dr Blix's warning came in a report, released yesterday, proposing ways to bring about global nuclear, biological and chemical disarmament.]
What does a UN EuroWeasel Bureaucrat do after failing to disarm one country? Why of course! He takes a promotion to write a report on how to DISARM THE ENTIRE WORLD. These people are in perpetual childhood.

(Memo to GOP: Don't ask me for any more money until you secure our Southern border.)
Perhaps they are right.
In what will be seen as thinly veiled reference to the 2003 Iraq war, the report said unilateral military action had failed to stem the threat of WMD, with the cost of many lives.
But, if we brought all our troops home and gave up the "war on terrorism" what would we do if another 9/11 occurred, or worse?
Our response would have to be a more devastating strike than Afghanistan or Iraq. It would have to be. With no troops to occupy the ground (as that, Blix tells us, is counterproductive), what does that leave us?
Perhaps some portions of any country that harbored terrorists and allowed them to strike the US, would cease to exist. No troops on the ground, no threats, just instant urban renewal.
Is this the alternative Blix is advocating?
Or is he just suggesting that we follow the French and surrender?
We could bring our troops home, not just from Iraq and Afghanistan, but Germany, South Korea, and a hundred other places.
Would that stop the attacks? No, it would just embolden the enemy by showing weakness.
Blix is wrong from start to finish; the problem is not us, but those who seek to attack us no matter what we do.

Love it!
You don't want in on the game, Hans...just sit it out and wait.

O.K. I will agree with Blix on this one.
I have always seen a "war on terror" to be a euphamism.
When we bombed Japan with Nuclear waepons was that not using terror to influence political situations? Dresden? Tarring and feathering in the Revolutionary war?
This is a war against Islamofascism and to call it anything else is a lie.

Libya gave up its WMD program not because of Hans Blix's golden tongue but because of their fear of the US' armed force.
Hans just wants blah blah. I was on a trip to Sweden last year and the inflight magazine had a picture of Hans getting the Scandinavian of the Year award for 2004. That's what he lives for.
To: FairOpinion
Brilliant. If we stop defending ourselves, the poor gentle lambs in the rogue states won't feel threatened anymore and will all happily disarm.
Of course, Iran has been working on its nuclear program since 1981.
Twenty years before the War on Terror, Hans.
