Blix warns of WMD vicious circle (The US must abandon its "war on terror" --Hans says)
UK Guardian ^ | June 2, 2006 | David Batty

The US must abandon its "war on terror" to prevent the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, according to the former United Nations' chief weapons inspector, Hans Blix.

The US foreign policy of pre-emptive strikes against any perceived weapons of mass destruction (WMD) threat, its development of new types of nuclear weapons and the "Star Wars" missile defence shield risked fuelling a new global arms race, said Dr Blix.

Dr Blix's warning came in a report, released yesterday, proposing ways to bring about global nuclear, biological and chemical disarmament.

The report by the independent international Weapons of Mass Destruction Commission (WMDC) said the September 11 terrorist attacks and the subsequent war on terror have led to the stagnation and abandonment of international cooperation on WMD monitoring and disarmament. In what will be seen as thinly veiled reference to the 2003 Iraq war, the report said unilateral military action had failed to stem the threat of WMD, with the cost of many lives.

Or is he just suggesting that we follow the French and surrender?

Not really surrender. Bricks is just suggesting that America must suffer the terrorist attacks on its own soild like mosquito bites, and we are not allowed to swat at them anywhere, nor dust them with DDT in the swamps, since it is their nature to attack us, and America deserves it.***

***Not the opinion of the Painester.

I think I'm going to start spreading rumors all over the middle east that Hans secretly urinates on the Quran and worships Satan.

"on August 6, 1991, the Washington Post ran a story headlined "Baghdad Surreptitiously Extracted Plutonium; International Monitoring Apparently Failed." The story, and several subsequent reports, revealed that Saddam had put together a massive and sophisticated nuclear-weapons program virtually under the nose of one Hans Blix, who was then head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the group charged with monitoring compliance with the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty." Blix has a history of being incompetent and a fool. What he says is unimportant.

I admittedly have a personal issue that sets me off when I see this kind of seld-congratulating pompousness. I was on a flight to west coast when a little girl two rows in front of me had a severe allargic reactions to peanuts.

The pilot paged a Dr. Evanston to the front of the cabin. Turns out that our Dr. Evanston was a Sociology professor who had insisted on placing Dr. before his name.

Fortunately the girl turned out okay, and I can just grump about this.

"you see if we just act nice muslims don't slaughter people. north korea and iran are only defending themselves from imperialistic US aggression, and blix isn't on the devils payroll "

Exactly! See it works like this, if Elliot Ness had never tried to catch Al Capone, then Al Capone would not have been such a bad guy!!! If the Colombian police had never tried to catch Pablo Escobar, then Escobar would not have gone on a killing spree and killed all those judges, policemen and innocent bystanders. Soooo... the lesson is... trying to stop evil is the cause of evil. Therefore we must ignore evil or else just let it run it's course.

Where do I start.................During the Enlightened Years of the Clinton Administration, when we were nice to terrorists and islamofacists...............China quadrupled their nuclear stockpile, India and Pakistan got nukes, North Korea was getting close if not already there, Algore was helping Iran get there, Qaddafi was working on getting nukes, Saddam was working on getting nukes (plus, our inspectors got kicked out of Iraq), everybody and his goat were trying to get nukes..............oh, and Bin Laden was making plans to strike America again....................also, under der Slickmeisters' watch, the Chinese got just about all of our most sensitive nuke secrets (some say in exchange for $$$$$$$ to Demonrats)...........I'm sure there are a couple of nukes still in Cuba, unless we can take the commies for their word, that they removed them all.........and Hugo the Bozo would love to have one or two...............but, it's all Bush's fault..................Blix is an idiot.

Don't worry, Blixie. The old global arms race you didn't manage to even slow down is sucking up all the excess fuel anyway.

Isn't this moron about 4 years late for a lobotomy? Or did he get it prior to leaving for Iraq? I can never tell. The things that come out of his mouth...

This is the first time I've ever heard the title "Dr. Blix." I wonder what he is a doctor of? Protology? Managing to thrust his anterior in his posterior. Methinks he has a case of severe caranial fecealosis.

You insult the good memory of Mr. Chamberlain. Neville finally figured it out on September 1, 1939. Hans Blix never will.

That cartooon must date from back in 2003 when even the Bush administration still believed there were WMD in Iraq.
