Ah, gee, warm fuzzy-wuzzy news. I feel, well, just so cuddled.

And the dumbing down of America continues.

"Couric hopes to end "pretentious era" in news"

However, news from the "pretending era" will continue.

Yep. And my initial thought from the headline was that she had decided to retire instead of taking the See-BS job.....

I read an article once where the author said he loved the local news. He could tell by the faces made by the news babe how he was supposed to feel. When she smiles and is all bubbly, it's good stuff, and then she sort of pouts and he knows, uh oh, this is a baaaaad story coming up.

All televised news is not to be taken seriously. Yes, even Fox.

The fact anyine watches Couric proves the dumbing down of America was complete quite some time ago.

I can just imagine how she will cover The War on Terror! She'd do a story on how the fine art of beheading is once again being taught to young people!!

Right, I would rather be cuddled than have respect for those who "keep the gates" of the news they allow us to hear.

Like all those budding teachers of 20-30 years ago that wanted "their" students to call them by their first names. That was really successful.

Actually, the more I think about it - given the drivel babbled by both teachers and news readers - it is a good thing that their audiences don't respect them.
