Right, I would rather be cuddled than have respect for those who "keep the gates" of the news they allow us to hear.

Like all those budding teachers of 20-30 years ago that wanted "their" students to call them by their first names. That was really successful.

Actually, the more I think about it - given the drivel babbled by both teachers and news readers - it is a good thing that their audiences don't respect them.

Cuddly-wuddly courses leading to students who can't bear the real world leading to cuddly-wuddly newscasters who simply reinforce the delusions of the adults who want to live in playrooms. rhetorical How did we get in this mess? /rhetorical McVey
