A preliminary military inquiry found evidence that U.S. Marines killed two dozen Iraqi civilians in an unprovoked attack in November, contradicting the troops account, U.S. officials said on Wednesday.
President George W. Bush said he was troubled by news stories on the November 19 killings of men, women and children in the town of Haditha, and a general at the Pentagon said the incident could complicate the job for the 130,000 U.S. troops in Iraq.
Allegations such as this, regardless of how they are borne out by the facts, can have an effect on the ability of U.S. forces to continue to operate, Army Brig. Gen. Carter Ham, deputy director for regional operations for the militarys Joint Staff, told a Pentagon briefing.
That's not what the poster said at all.
Ah, now I wonder, should I shoot, or maybe I better not, but let me see now, Fred used his rifle and now he is in jail, maybe I better not, BAAAAAAAANG, Ah,
Not only that, if the official thought the matter was too sensitive to give his name, it's too sensitive for him to give the information, or does he think his name is more important than the subject matter?
Sounds like another leaking lefty full of malice and bullshit aforethought. The CIA and Justice are full of them. I don't know why we shouldn't expect a rat's nest of them in the DoD as well, seeing as how Bush has never bothered to weed them out from any department or agency after Hillary's pigfest in appointing them.
Reuters knows what they have been told by named and unnamed officials and by people who lived nearby. It's called reporting. Maybe you need to read the entire article? Shooting the messengers doesn't help.
Don't make me repeat myself.
That's the same feel I get from reading all these different articles on the event. We are being shown an incomplete picture in each.
I doubt that muthra has seen a complete picture as well, he's jumped to his own conclusions and damned them all without realizing what he is being told by his sources inside the Corps, may come from people that aren't even involved in the investigation and that they are only repeating rumor as well.
Maybe you need to remember who protects your freedom to slam our military men who put their lives on the line so idiots can verbally convict them of mass murder based on the reportage of hate-America institutions such as Reuters.

you're hardly worth the effort.
It's obvious you've never served in combat. Your treachery is disgusting, frankly, as is your worship for God Reuters.
I will stand by our troops and their explanation until the day the are convicted at a fair and just court martial, if ever one comes to pass. Until then, no mealy-mouthed panty-waists cheerleading for Reuters or a whore like Jack Murtha rate one iota of credibility on this subject.
You obviously don't recognize the leftist media's hatred for Bush, the WoT, and the Iraq war, nor the way they play the game.
And you have served in combat? Dates please?
Gotta run. I'll check back.
No, I didn't. It's rather obvious you didn't read my post. If you're not going to actually read my posts, then please don't respond to them, okay?
Did I actually say that you said that, if you're not going to actually read my posts, then please don't respond to them, okay?
Yes--that was a quote from your latest reply to me. Copy, paste, post...those are your words, all right.
Good Lord, you not only don't read my posts, you don't even read your own!
Really?
Would you please quote yourself then,
you know your original Saddam thugs quote and tell me what exactly you meant to say in real english without all the nuances of a liberal.
"The initial event was an IED. That's a provocation, even
if the response turns out to have been disproportionate,
or even unlawful."
Apocalypse Now II. Whether or not this is true, I'm sure seeing a buddy blown up every other day from cowardly IEDs, might tend to put one on heightened edge. Our soldiers are only human and under the circumstances, they are doing the best job they can do so we need to support them as best as we can, and give them the benefit of the doubt. This might be an occasion when one or two snapped, and his fellow platoon members decided to, mistakenly remain silent because they too understood and related to the frustration. It is hard to judge if you are not living it, day after day, cow after cow.
Thanks for the ping. I'm way behind. Is there anything new in this article, as compared to the other White House/Haditha thread?
Nah, I own some.
