"So, I think they were just blinded by hate ... and they just lost control," Crossan told KING-TV, which aired the interview Tuesday.
The targets... are about a dozen enlisted Marines, according to Hackett, a Marine reservist and Iraqi war veteran who represents Kimber... [Hackett] said the highest ranking among those under investigation is a staff sergeant who led the four-vehicle convoy that was hit by the bomb.
Kimber... was relieved of command last month because his subordinates... used profanity and criticized the performance of Iraqi security services during an interview with Britain's Sky News TV...

The girl Emman Wallid even says..."on the third telling"... she knew WHEN it was going to go off...and WHERE it was...right where the Humvee/Armored Vehicle was....and that she covered her ears in anticipation of its detonation...! (Filthy little jihadist voyeurs looking to see Americans die and just take it...never expecting the Spanish Inquisition).
You can practically hear the wheels spinning in the reporter's head after that statement was translated. Calling it "intriguing" and questioning whether it was the result of a "premonition" or "knowledge."
Interesting how the CNN reporter Brian Schilke(Sp?) almost puts two and two together, [ almost blurting out in his tape that the entire family was complicit in the IED attack....and hence were not "civilians", but combatants]. But he concludes with the interpreter trying to fudge over what the girl said.
His "interpreter" goes out of his way to try and rationalize the girl's admission, and tells the interviewer that "the girl was confused" about the timing of events...
If I were that CNN reporter, I would ditch that "interpreter"...is more likely a Sunni "Handler" for the media. And they are probably not too happy that this reporter actually showed some small amount of brains and didn't automatically show the usual gullibility. Not your usual stooge from CNN reporting "American" atrocities...
This particular reporter better watch his back.

You have it exactly right -
Well, its obviously a fantastic stretch, and the way the reporter does it, I almost think he is trying to get his skepticism "out" on the air past his suspicious "handler/interpreter" without getting a knife in the back. Or perhaps past the 'filter' of his own radical-liberal bosses back in Atlanta.
Lets get some things straight about what I've said - First off this young girl gives an open interview on tape to a human rights group (paid for by CNN) - On the tape she is openly talking (not the scripted type interviews we are mainly seeing)....during her talking she clearly states she not only knew of the IED...and where it was....and not only didn't show leave her house because of it...but she covered her ears in anticipation of its detonation! Because she knew exactly when it was going to go off (understand this was LOS IED) so she either was simply watching the Marines coming or she was watching the detenator of this LOS IED himself??? (one or the other).
The CNN reporter even openly opines (with the gears spinning in his head)... Calling it "intriguing" and questioning whether it was the result of a "premonition" or perhaps "knowledge of some sort of the impending IED attack" (which do you figure??).
With regard to what happened next - I have clearly stated it appears a few of these Marines went through the roof after this specific IED attack (for what reasons??)...did they go too far?(that is being investigated).
But what now is clear is this took place in Haditha (a safe haven for insurgents...who had open support among many of these "civilians" - It is now clear that an IED was set off and that the families within these homes were aware of such an IED being placed. Not only aware by waiting in anticipation for it go off on the bypassing Marines.
Yet the MSM continue to try and paint a picture of these innocent victims who have absolutely no reason to be caught up in this situation whatsoever - That is complete BS.
We furthermore know that on the whole Marines are not actively seeking out and killing innocent Iraqi's....They are out there saving their lives..and giving up theirs in the process....and/or risking their own lives hundreds of times a week.
Perhaps we should get the Congolese military involved?
This reporter, Ryan Chilcote, appears to be an exception to the rule of CNN. Actually conveys some doubt about the "line" being pushed out by the handlers.

What extent was their involvment in this attack on the Marines

Assuming that part of the story is true, and they did exist, and did die in the way it is claimed they died.
We don't exactly know how young children of those ages died - But I can tell you that if they were killed by small arms fire it was very likely in direct fire from which they were hit. Firing through doorways (if one is thinking they are in danger) is commonplace (as insurgents fire though doorways, walls and floors each and every day at our forces in Iraq).
I can also tell you that it is U.S. Marines and U.S. Soldiers that are dying for these kids and their families each and every day. Some of these very people who won't as much say "boo" regarding a known IED being placed to kill our brave men.
The reality is, in war, people die. Both innocent people and those who deserve it.
Furthermore if these Marines did point blank execute small children they will be punished. If innocent children were killed by accident through indirect fire....then that is simply the ugliness of war.
But what appears clear is that these several children were very aware of a planted IED. They knew where it was and they waited in anticipation (covering her ears) when she knew it was going to go off (by either watching the Marines coming...or by watching the person / detonator of the LOS IED himself/herself).

The reports I have read were that the military did not START the investigation until they were approached by time magazine. Let me say that I AM NOT STATING THIS AS A FACT. But it would explain why the President would have no knowledge. This is the claim for the cover up.
