... Snow said that he has been assured by the Pentagon that "all the details" will be made available...
Rep. John Murtha... has said Marines shot and killed unarmed civilians in a taxi at the scene and went into two homes and shot others.
On Tuesday, [Snow] said President Bush learned of the killings only after a reporter from Time magazine asked questions...
Asked when Bush was first briefed about the events in Haditha, an insurgent stronghold in western Iraq, Snow replied Tuesday: "When a Time reporter first made the call."
According to the attorney for one of three Marine Corps officers relieved of command from a Marine battalion are not targets of investigations into whether their troops killed the civilians or tried to cover it up.
Meanwhile, Lance Cpl. James Crossan of North Bend, Wash., who was injured in the roadside bomb attack in Haditha, told a Seattle television station that some of the Marines might have snapped after seeing one of their own killed in action.
"So, I think they were just blinded by hate ... and they just lost control," Crossan told KING-TV, which aired the interview Tuesday.
The targets... are about a dozen enlisted Marines, according to Hackett, a Marine reservist and Iraqi war veteran who represents Kimber... [Hackett] said the highest ranking among those under investigation is a staff sergeant who led the four-vehicle convoy that was hit by the bomb.
Kimber... was relieved of command last month because his subordinates... used profanity and criticized the performance of Iraqi security services during an interview with Britain's Sky News TV...
...Hackett told The Associated Press by telephone. "He's not under investigation for anything related to what has played out in the press." [snip]

Say, I know another rather disgruntled ex-cop who pops around asking silly questions that he knows are false. You wouldn't be in the New York area, would ya Detective?
There are no dumb questions. There are a lot of dumb answers, and that was one of them.
I beg to differ, Sheriff.
Now, there's two ways for you to make that statement:
1. You actually have inside knowledge on this investigation because you have participated in it. In that case, you're just committing a major OPSEC and/or JAGMAN violation.
2. You don't have inside information, you're just making assumptions that may or may not be correct.
Which one?
In your opinion, is this justification for our forces entering the home and putting bullets in their head and chest (assuming those allegations are correct)?
If you do, can you think of a good reason to later claim they were killed by an IED?
Coming right up:
I'll look for that CNN video, I haven't seen that one.
Here's a link to the one I did see.
Would you please check it and let me know if it's the same interview?

Furthermore if one understands the situation on the ground in Haditha it is also very well known that insurgents have found safe havens there - Plain and simple -
Now the MSM has tried to paint a picture over the last week that these victim's were completely innocent and had no reason whatsoever to get caught up in any of this situation.
I am clearly pointing out that is BS. This was a LOS IED (which means it was detonated within a short distance of where it went off and from a "safe zone") - These houses fall clearly into that category.
I now know that a child within these homes openly admits to knowing of said IED! - I also know another child has come up with 3 versions of her own truth -
I furthermore know that Marines are not actively out killing innocent Iraqi's....They are out there saving their lives..and giving theirs ....and/or risking their own lives hundreds of times a week.
Now does that mean a few of these Marines didn't go through the roof after this IED attack? No, it clearly looks as if they did (to the degree they went and was that justified is currently under investigation)....but the notion that these were all innocent victims who had no reason to be in this situation is utter BS! (They clearly knew an IED was planted....which puts them 100% involved).
Again in this CNN video the reporter then opines that "perhaps it was a premonition"..."or perhaps she is suggesting more..that she knew of the IED beforehand".
Yeah, it was a premonition - Unbelievable that they even suggest such -
What about it?
Maybe just a percussion device, to disorient them? Maybe somebody in the room fired a shot? Or yelled something that the marines thought was a command to attack?
Maybe the marines shot up a the level to kill standing combatants, not sitting non-combatants?
Remember, someone else posted here that the reason the Marine's story is doubted is that the dead had gunshot wounds, NOT shrapnel -- so it sounds like it wasn't a grenade that killed them, or someone's story is wrong.
WOW! Where did you come from... letme guess...could it be du?
Poohbah was not an ex-cop; he was ex-Marine, however.
Oh, good grief. I've met Poohbah. Agreed with him on a lot of things, but he's WAY too touchy to handle the Internet.
reading it carefully, I think the writer took careful aim to make Tonys answer on tuesday appear to mean that Bush just learned of it on tuesday, WHICH CAN'T POSSIBLY BE TRUE UNLESS BUSH DOESN'T WATCH TEEVEE.
What's that great line from Goldeneye?
"Unlike the Americans, we prefer not to get our bad news from CNN."
If Bush doesn't watch TV, he's probably smarter than most folks...
I screwed up your name, sorry about that.
Or should I say "alleged" opus?
I personally think BeHold reminds me of another feller, kinda like Lenny from Law & Order, but without the tact. :-p
