The Cato Institute parrots the WSJ's propaganda on open borders and is not credible. Consider that Mexico has a much higher birth rate than most countries. In 1940 there were only 20 million people living in Mexico. Their population has increased over five times in only 60 years. Factor in the high birth rate and also illegal immigration from other Central American countries and you get a better, albeit unfortunate, picture.

They have been having a population explosion, probably due to remittances. When you feed very poor people you get more poor people.

The violent crimes institute in Atlanta estimates that there are around 240,000 illegal alien sex offenders in the USA and that they have an average of 4 victims each. From what I got from Fox and friends this morning, the illegal aliens usually find their victims while on the job they've been illegally hired to do.

I think it's time for the victims of illegal alien crimes to start suing the scumbags that hire them.

Immigration is fundamentally driven by demand in the U.S. economy for workers.

This is fast becoming an outdated factor.
Immigrants are learning to use and abuse the system. Why be poor in mexico when you can come to the US , have a baby and be rolling in the dough.

I have seen the change in the attitude and work ethic.
We used to get the cream of the crop , people who wanted to work. But the tide is turned, now we are getting the ones who see a free ride and plenty of "services".

With historically low unemployment rates, how exactly is the demand in the U.S. economy for workers "fast becoming an outdated factor"? I also do not have a problem cutting off all Social Security and most other government welfare programs, regardless of immigration status.

We used to get the cream of the crop , people who wanted to work.

When I was a kid I lived in an area where there were a lot of root crops grown and harvested by legal migrant workers. There were 3 families that lived in a large two story house across the road from us during the harvest season and there were almost never any problems.

As I understand it, they came to the US for a two year period and followed the work. Then they would go back to Mexico for a year then return to work for another two years.

All these number are meaningless until the borders are closed and the illegals here are somehow counted. BTW: We're not just talking about Mexicans.

They have more than three in many places. And they start early. They are like rabbits. Allow ten million and in a couple decades you'll have forty million.
