I keep hearing Bush and Co saying once they get a stable government in place the violence will then die down. Why? If anything it seems that would only make the insurgents redouble their efforts to then bring that government down.
Look what's going on in Afghanistan. If democracy is grounded in Christianity how do you make a Muslim based culture accept a Christian based culture?

Savage has gotten dull. He took a week off for the heck of it with no guest host and then has done nothing but read from "his" book and play rock and roll since he got back.
He really doesn't seem that committed to the show.

but this "host without kids promoting family values" I'm dying to know who that is. Maybe he means Rush, divorced four times, no kids, who drugged himself deaf.

He really doesn't seem that committed to the show I think Savage is either getting burned-out or is getting bored doing the show. You can't keep doing a show bashing all the time without it taking a lot out of you.
The problem is you got both Repubs and the Rats continually doing things that need to be bashed. Where is the opposition to them? Talkradio?

SAVAGE NATION ROUNDUP TID-BITS: Savage out the gate talking about his actions over Memorial day weekend including movie reviews, rants against Murtha, focused much against Pinchy Salzburger's influence and hatred of America including clips of a recent speech, bashed Repubs and some talk shows hosts.
(2nd hour) Rants more against Murtha, discusses the lost rites of of manhood, discusses cuisine, comments on resignaton of John Snow, on Dubai ports and Doncasters, more clips of Salzburger, takes callers, talks Bible.
(3rd hr) Continues bashing Salzburger and the NY times, continues his rants against Murtha, takes more calls pro and con on war and Murtha. Thanks Savage!

The thing about his program for me is, passion. The lawyers and politicians can prance and dance around, using words that both soothe and inflame, Savage doesn't care if he PO's people. I would be willing to bet that most of the founders of this country, were very similar to him in style. If I were to put a word to what I hate about most discussion, it would be CIVILIZED. This country is civilized to death. In my opinion, most politicians and lawyers (who run the country btw) would react like Dukakis if their own daughter were being raped. The only thing that would bring out passion, is the big "kill". Something that brings notoriety, fame or money.

Nicely put. It's that passion that his detractors don't understand, and thus regard him as an 'embarrassment'. He doesn't put on a happy face, just to be nice. If somebody wrote an unbiased book about the top 10 conservative talkers,made up primarily of their own words as spoken on the air, i think his chapter would be the most interesting.

Savage is not only smart, his humor and analysis is actually nuanced in an academic manner with a streetfighter delivery.
