WASHINGTON - Military investigators piecing together what happened in the Iraqi town of Al-Hadithah on Nov. 19, 2005 -- when Marines allegedly killed two dozen civilians -- have access to video shot by a pilotless aircraft that was circling overhead for at least part of that day, military defense attorneys familiar with the case said in interviews.
It is unclear whether the video obtained from that day's flight captured the violence, said the attorneys, who have consulted with Marines who were there. One attorney said investigators have reviewed surveillance footage taken hours after the shootings, which showed the Marines returning to the town to remove the bodies of the Iraqis.
Monday, Marine Gen. Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said charges will be issued if the evidence merits it. For now, ``it would be premature for me to judge'' the outcome of the two U.S. military investigations, Pace said on CBS's ``The Early Show.''

Can anybody remember the last time Murtha held a press conference to trumpet anything GOOD about our troops? Seems to be he is just the harbinger of bad news and failure and revels in the idea that we could be losing and have to admit defeat and retreat.
He's revelling in his own misery, becuase our men are doing the job, and Bush ain't gonna retreat.
That is easy.
The WILD ACCUSATION will incite riots on the arab street and will cause an embarassment to the administration and will push the talking point of the DNC that the USA is weak militarily.
IF THE TRUTH shows the usa is strong and did the right thing and the terrorists USED civilians to hide behind, well that truth can be burried on page 347 on a tuesday appology section.
Murtha, the liar, is only worthy of derision and contempt. He is an embarasment to those who wear and wore the uniform.
He is also an embarrassment to the US Congress. Unfortuantely there are more than a few of those.
God bless and protect our wonderful military.
Amen. Keep praying for these men AND the truth.
These communist-Anti American liberals will stop at nothing to undermine this war
I've never heard of this. I do know that the Japanese were adverse to surrendering. Most would choose death over surrender. They were fanatics.
Once they surrendered it was considered a war crime to kill them.
Generally, I don't give much credence to off-the-record statements from defense attorneys.
That's what I'm thinking.
The only way for the MSM and the Hanoi Muthas to create another viet nam is to shut down ALL the internet, close ALL cable TV, eliminate sat TV, and only allow newspapers and the three alphabet networks to diseminate information WITHOUT any opposing views.
IOW they need the 1960's 70's media machine.
Every time we show a picture of the towers, or a child smiling at the sight of the US military, Murtha dies a little more.
Exactly. We have so much info that the Marines murdered innocent people, you'd think we have first hand, on the ground witnesses. Since I hold all media suspect, based on their horrible reporting od almost ever aspect of the war, I am very doubtful reporting to date is anything more than military/Bush/anti-American bashing.
I will. My faith in them has not and will not waver one iota. The truth will come out. It'll probably be a one line retraction on page 72 H. As far back in the paper as they can print it. Their job is to injure our fighting men and women. That is a job they take on with glee.
I could just cuss like a sailor I'm so mad.
The MSM doesn't either, apparently, when it conflicts with the agenda. Lot's of credence to off the record military types, who they normally loathe and ignore, except now it fits the agenda. I smell a rat.
I am cussing like one in my office. LOL
You may be right. Sounds plausible.
This B.S. from Murtha may make one of them hesitate for a split second and their blood will be on Murtha's hands!
