WASHINGTON - Military investigators piecing together what happened in the Iraqi town of Al-Hadithah on Nov. 19, 2005 -- when Marines allegedly killed two dozen civilians -- have access to video shot by a pilotless aircraft that was circling overhead for at least part of that day, military defense attorneys familiar with the case said in interviews.
It is unclear whether the video obtained from that day's flight captured the violence, said the attorneys, who have consulted with Marines who were there. One attorney said investigators have reviewed surveillance footage taken hours after the shootings, which showed the Marines returning to the town to remove the bodies of the Iraqis.
Monday, Marine Gen. Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said charges will be issued if the evidence merits it. For now, ``it would be premature for me to judge'' the outcome of the two U.S. military investigations, Pace said on CBS's ``The Early Show.''

Zowie! Great catch!!
In a Western mind-set, that's certainly understandable: we wouldn't hide behind our women and children during combat, or strap bombs on them and push them out the door as weapons. These scum wouldn't give it a second thought.
Do you have a link to that story you read?
Anyone who has ever dealt with "reporters" knows they are idiots with agendas. Even when they like you they never get a story right. And try to get a democrat paper to run with negative facts about a democrat politician. You will be sickened to hear how many excuses there are for NOT printing newsworthy facts.
My favorite was when as a community leader I attended a meeting with our democrat mayor. Tried to tell the dem rag major newspaper "reporter" what happened at the meeting. The reporter tells me "You know we can't print that - it's hearsay."
meaningless, that was simply done to quell the outcry from the iraqi mobs. we will probably pay compensation for the truck accident in Afghanistan over the weekend too, it does not in any way imply the the murder charge is true.
If you are suggesting that these particular dead civilians were being used as human shields, I'd appreciate a reference to even the tiniest scintilla of evidence to that effect.
Thanks for posting this Gothmog and thanks to Arwa Damon for the account.
If you are suggesting that these accused Marines are guilty of cold-blooded murder of innocent women and children, I'd appreciate even the tiniest scintilla of evidence to that effect.
I don't know if I posted this on this thread or not, but I have to wonder at the lack of outrage among the left and media when Clinton's campaign in Kosovo bombed innocent civilians from 25,000 feet.
The MSM is trying to "create" another My Lai. As I see it, the liberal game plan for VietNam is the same playbook for today's anti-American public.
In the long run, I think the collapse if the Middle East is what they have in mind, thus throwing the US economy into as down spiral which could lead to a form of tyranny, 'er I mean government.
Really? Which media outlets were in Haditha to "create" these events?
90+% of americans - don't even know that such occurred, its been edit out from the course of history by the MSM.
Yet another blatant example of the bias the MSM has against Bush & our Military.
oh, okay, thank you
I'm starting to think that 90% of Americans never took a history lesson in their entire lives.
To suggest that it is all simply a media creation is to be delusional.
Every time there is an investigation of this nature, in civilian life and military life, people are suspended or removed from their posts. It's SOP.
