Didn't Gore say, or was that Bill Clinton, that global warming is the real threat, not terrorists.

But Mr Gore replied: "I honestly believe that the role I can most usefully play is to try to change the minds of the American people...about what this crisis is about."

I thought it's called Global Warming, not American Warming.

Makes me think of those bearded guys in the 50s and 60s who were always walking around with those wacky, "The End Is Near" signs.

Gore said he was "carbon neutral" himself and he tried to offset any plane flight or car journey by "purchasing verifiable reductions in CO2 elsewhere".

And there, folks, you have the entire purpose of Kyoto Protocol and the Marakesh Accords: a wealth transfer from the US to the developing nations. The French already had nukes, the Germans were already substituting Russian gas for coal and incorporated the trainwreck economy of East Germany in their 1990 GHG basis, the Brits were already substituting North Sea gas for coal, Russian economic data for 1990 was fraudulent and what there really was had since deteriorated. In other words, compliance would not fall hard on Europe and the real burden was on the US and Canada. The only way for the US to comply with Kyoto was to purchase GHG credits just like Al Gore. No real reduction in GHG; just a new form of world currency - GHG emissions credits -- issued by the third world and paid for by the USA. Canada and Algore took the bait; thank goodness the US Senate did not.

Davis Guggenheim: That’s the problem with global warming / climate change, I think, and why people have such a hard time connecting with it. It’s very hard to touch and to see and to know how your life fits into it, because it’s so huge and broad. When you see homeless people, you know – you see them outside your house and think that’s a problem, but global warming is much more abstract. So, that’s a challenge, and my instinct was that if I could tell Al’s story in the movie, that perhaps, if we learned about him and learned how he became so invested, then maybe we would too.

DG: He’s been saying this for a long time. You know, An Inconvenient Truth is the title for a bunch of reasons, but one of them was that he was given this burden to carry as a young man in college. Early in the 70’s he brought Roger Ravelle to Congress and held hearings as a congressman, hearing as a senator, and people weren’t listening. And people read his book and people loved his book, but people weren’t acting. This guy’s been out there, ringing the alarm bell but no one’s listening. And I thought that f we connected to that struggle, if we understood that, than maybe we could get the message across.

What film is so good at is giving people an experience, an emotional, gripping experience. If you want to really learn about global warming, and you really want to get into the science of it, there are lots of better ways – you can read voluminous books – but this is a way to really experience the full profound time with Gore. And I thought, if we get people that, we get them hooked, and they can take the rest of the journey on their own.

DG: I think that the dvd is going to be a very powerful tool when it comes out – people are going to give it to their friends, they’re going have parties and watch it. In the way that a lot of other activist documentaries have been used. I think that you can put on the DVD of this movie, little vignettes, four or five vignettes of real people – doing – changing their lives and getting involved and changing this problem in their own individual ways.

"danger which could bring the end of civilisation."

And all he does is make a cheap little movie about it called:

An Inconvenient Truth.

And poses for pictures in france.

Shouldn't he at least call the movie:

END OF THE FRIGGIN WORLD!!!!!!

Set his head on fire and do cartwheels down the boulevard...?

I am not interested in 'experiencing the full profound time with Gore'. I was perfectly content to FORGET him.
