Germans should stop feeling Holocaust guilt: Ahmadinejad

Iranian president Mahmoud Amadnutjob has given an interview to Germany's Der Spiegel:

Germans should stop feeling Holocaust guilt: Ahmadinejad

BERLIN (Reuters) - Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told Germans they should no longer allow themselves to be held prisoner by a sense of guilt over the Holocaust and reiterated doubts that the Holocaust even happened.

In an interview with Germany's Der Spiegel magazine, Ahmadinejad said he doubted Germans were allowed to write "the truth" about the Holocaust and said he was still considering traveling to Germany for the World Cup soccer tournament.

"I believe the German people are prisoners of the Holocaust. More than 60 million were killed in World War Two ... The question is: Why is it that only Jews are at the center of attention?," he said in the interview published on Sunday.

"How long is this going to go on?" he added. "How long will the German people be held hostage to the Zionists?... Why should you feel obligated to the Zionists? You've paid reparations for 60 years and will have to pay for another 100 years."

Apparently, Mr. Amadnutjob wants to go to Germany to see the World Cup soccer game but this makes some Germans uncomfortable because he is a Jew hating admirer of Adolf Hitler (yemach shemo).

But shouldn't the German government allow Mr. Amadnutjob to fly to Munich, rent a car, rent a hotel room, buy a general admission ticket to the soccer game, and then leave him to his own devices?

If the German government doesn't do that, isn't the German government effectively protecting a Jew hating admirer of Adolf Hitler (yemach shemo)?

I prefer to avoid using the term "Nazi."

I would rather call the party of Adolf Hitler (yemach shemo) by its full name:

the National Socialist party of Germany.

Current casual comparisons of Hitler (yemach shemo) and "Nazis" with contemporary people, things and ideas is a desecration of the memory of the millions who were murdered in the name of National Socialism in Germany.

But worse is the intentionally blind and ignorant conclusion that the crimes of the National Socialist party were not a result of the flaws inherent in socialism and other forms of oppressive, totalitarian ideologies.

And even worse is the senseless and self-negating conclusion that the crimes of the National Socialist party were the result of some inherent flaw in the ability of mankind, or the German people, to maintain and use power as a force to further good and do justice in this world.

And that is the real desecration of the memory of the millions who were murdered in the name of National Socialism.

By doing nothing more in opposition to Mahmoud Amadnutjob than preventing him from flying to Germany and attending a soccer game, the German government is effectively protecting a Jew hating admirer of Adolf Hitler (yemach shemo).

Even Mahmoud Amadnutjob knows these truths. That is why his mocking of the German people to "get over their Holocaust guilt" is so poignant.

I actually feel sorry for the German people. I wish they were able to "get over their Holocaust guilt," stand up, and confront Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at a soccer game in Germany.

Since we're absolving nations of guilt, I propose a few more absolutions: the West should cease to feel guilt for the Crusades, the US should cease to feel guilty about our support for the Shah or the overthrow of the Iranian premier in the 1950's, and the West should end its fixation with guilt over colonialism or slavery.

Germans and Iranians UNITE, Arise ye fascist sleepers and engage in Krystalnacht II.

A little more of such public pronouncement and this Iraniac will find himself subjected to a full body circumcision by a Rabbi who can't resist.

Ah, yes. The anti-Semitic Leftists of Germany have been absolved of their Jew-hate by a fellow Nazi.

What great news! I'm quite sure the libbies are pleased.

Yimach shemo is Hebrew for "may his name be erased."

Then there is a story about a Jewish immigrant who arrived on Ellis island, got confused while being questioned by an immigration officer who was asking him for his name, and responded "Sheyn fergessen." which is Yiddish for "I forget." The poor Jew got stuck with the name "Sean Ferguson."

I hope he's banned from entering Germany. He would have to be arrested for breaking German law if he tries to deplane there. His position as head of state do not grant him immunity for advocacy of genocide. Think about the Milosevic precedent.

I could not disagree more!

Did you even read what I wrote? Apparently not. I welcome you to do read it, and explain to my why Germany should be protecting Amadnutjob by banning his presence at this soccer game.

Its not about a soccer game. Its about the fact Ahmedinejad is a known anti-Semite and Holocaust denier who does not deserve to be accorded Western hospitality. As I observed, where he to come, he would have to be arrested and detained from breaking German law. And the position of a head of a state does not grant him immunity for advocacy of genocide. Again, recall what I said about the Milosevic precedent.

First, I don't think you have a very good understanding of German law.

So what if he is an anti-Semite and Holocaust denier? As long as he does not engage in Holocaust denial in Germany, there is no need to arrest him.

There are other charges he'd have to face before the Federal Constitutional Court in Kahlsruhe. He's a nutjob who's asking for it. I hope he does try to press his luck.

Since we're absolving nations of guilt,

I hereby absolve the Yankee Nation of invading and making war on the C.S.A.

Just don't do it again.

The Austrian government's law passed in 1992 proscribes:

"whoever denies, grossly plays down, approves or tries to excuse the National Socialist genocide or other National Socialist crimes against humanity in a print publication, in broadcast or other media . . . ."

David Irving was convicted under this law and sentenced to three years in jail.

To quote John Hinderaker:

"David Irving is an awful human being, but it's pretty hard to take the high ground with regard to freedom of speech--over, say, the Danish cartoons--when you're sending people to jail for "grossly playing down" or "trying to excuse" Nazi crimes. Some say, of course, that for Europe the Holocaust is unique and deserves this special legal status. But then, the Muslims think Mohammed is unique, too. Once you start making exceptions of this sort, it's hard to know when to stop."

I agree. As much as I oppose Holocaust deniers, I don't want my government encouraging them to hide themselves from the rest of us.

Let these Jew-haters and Hitler-admirers be free to show us who they are.

Let the German people be free to let us know with whom they stand.

And let those with a sense of honor and justice be free to exhibit these qualities in a manner that the circumstances require. And let Mahmoud Amadnutjob join and meet us all, mano e mano and mono e mono, in the stands and bleachers of that World Cup soccer game in Germany.

Germany was having trouble, what a sad, sad story
Needed a new leader to restore its former glory
Where, oh, where was he? Where could that man be?
We looked around, and then we found, the man for you and me,
And now it's ...

Springtime . . .

. . . Come on, Germans, go into your dance!
