House GOP draws line on immigration

WASHINGTON -- House Republican leaders yesterday refused to yield on immigration, insisting that any bill to emerge from upcoming House-Senate negotiations will contain no provisions for undocumented immigrants to become citizens.

This guy uses the term, "path to citizenship" eight different times. Talk about a mantra.

"Graham and others have suggested that Republicans will be judged harshly if they fail to deliver a sweeping immigration reform bill to Bush's desk."

Guess who is standing in the way of that and the will of American people, Lindsoid?

Of course, even if the illegals "only" get an amnesty to "temporary worker" status, that's still a big reward and incentive for future illegals to come here.

And there's nothing stopping a future Congress and President from passing a law allowing "temporary workers" to apply for naturalization.

Anything that legalizes illegals is amnesty.

Best result: both Senate and House bills die, and we somehow get an enforcement-minded President in 2009, who will use the adequate current laws to address the illegal invasion.

I really like the "blue ribbon commission" I read about in one of the online papers. It could supposedly recommend additional changes to immigration law. Oldest trick in the book for bureaucrats, and somebody has had the nerve to propose it.

They really think we're a bunch of rubes.

Follow the money. Unions, dems and big business all behind it. Loss of sovereignty, US safety, culture, laws, mores, language mean nothing compared to what they think they'll get. Although, when they're impacted by an illegal who drives the wrong way on the highway, killing their children...or they don't get a job because illegals are being paid coolie wages...or Mexican gangs run wild...drugs, murder, you name it, they might spare a passing thought for what they threw away.

well it is a 'blue-ribbon' commission, so that must be pretty good. If the commission didn't have that clear mark of superiority I might be skeptical..../s

The Big Lie DOES work, at least most of the time.

The Senate has no clue as to how far out of touch they are with the people of this country. How could they have gotten so far out of the mainstream on immigration?

I hope the House will stick to its ideas and principles on this. They have a far better bill and can not, must not compromise on our national security.

Meanwhile, John McCain will NEVER be President over this and other actions. NEVER.

I stated on another thread that that lousy reptile McCain is my supposed senator. He's the ringleader of the whole stinking Rino mess.

The only way he has a shot at the WH is for the commie media to get the matchup with Hillary that they are pushing for. If Gore is a genuine candidate and gets the nomination he would clean Mr. Manchu's clock. If Gore could outpoint Bush in 2000, you know he could take the thing with a couple of million of us sitting it out.

"Blue ribbon" often refers to small prizes, county fairs and Pabst beer. Again, they think we're nothing but hayseeds.

My wife and I will like you sit it our if McCain is the GOP canidate. Sometimes a massive loss might be what the doctor ordered to awaken the conservatives.

Please don't think that way. I thought that in '92 and voted for Perot and it got us 8 years of Clinton. We're going to be paying for those 8 years for decades. I believe that 9/11 occurred because Clinton ignored the growing terrorism threat - just like he ignored or just paid lip service to all our major issues.

Vote for the most conservative candidate available in the primary, but vote for the Republican in the general. Don't sit it out or don't cast a protest vote. If you do, then you have no right to complain if a Clinton clone gets elected to high office.

Believe me, as one who had to clamp my nostrils shut with several clothspins to pull the lever for Arlen Specter, I don't make this admonition lightly.

Channel your energy into the primaries. If we show up for those, we'll have the power to replace a RINO with a conservative.

This should be our strategy. Taking our marbles and staying home is the strategy the other side hopes we follow.

The tide already came in. Tide of invaders that are costing each of us dearly, how they could even consider giving away welfare benefits, EIC checks, social security benefits and all the rest of the garbage proposed in the worse bill of the century and think it will be without repurcussions is ludicrous.
