A gynecologist at The Villages community near Orlando, Fla., said she treats more cases of herpes and the human papilloma virus in the retirement community than she did in the city of Miami. I was about to have breakfast. Suddenly, I have no appetite....
Isn't The Villages the place advertised on FNC from time to time? I am beginning to have ideas about some possible re-wordings of their annoying jingle.

"running rampant at a popular Central Florida retirement community"
There are one or two people changing the neighborhood temporarily.
Burglary is like this, the neighborhood doesn't change, a couple of new guys move in until they are caught or move on.

"The Villages, the worlds most friendliest hometown!!". :-)
The "Friendliest hometown" has some unfortunate side effects though. Gotta dig those groovin' Baby Boomers. Keepin' that free love 60's crap alive. ;-)

I've heard the same thing about the Sun City retirement community here in Arizona, that the most prevalent illness among the seniors is VD. Man, I can't wait to be 80.

A doctor blamed Viagra, a lack of sex education and no risk for pregnancy
Boomers never change, it appears.

I wonder if Medicare will cover treatment for VD?

LACK OF SEX EDUCATION!
When is that old line going to get a rest? These people are older than the hills, living in the old USA where sex flows from the media devices like a river. Give me a break.

Troubling, but not really unexpected. Both diseases are far more common than many people realize. HPV, in particular, has become so common place most sexually active people in the U.S. have been exposed to it at one time or another. Most strains are harmless, but a few have been linked to cervical cancer in women.
To: DemforBush
a few have been linked to cervical cancer in women. It's also linked to genital warts. At their age, it's hard to tell age spots, skin tags, moles, and warts apart.
Blech!

I might be wrong, but I think the strains most likely to cause warts are also the ones most often associated with cervical cancer.
Either way, blech indeed!
