It's the beginning of the Memorial Day weekend. We've had our silliness thread to start things off now, how about this:
Who do you think had the best cameo performance in any movie or TV show? You know, someone who had a bit part but stole the show for you.

I see some of what you say as a reflection on the barely bridled lust of closet pedophiles who, like patient gardeners, await a day of harvest.

In the movie "Defending Your Life" with Albert Brooks and Meryl Streep, they go to the "Past Lives Pavillion," a place where you can see who you were in "past lives."
I don't want to give this away to anyone who hasn't seen the movie, and you really should, it's terrific. Highlight for the spoiler...
The host at the Past Lives Pavillion is Shirley MacLaine.

That's one of my all time favorite movies, and yes, it was the perfect choice.

One of the saddest cameos was seeing the Three Stooges in "It's a mad, mad, mad, mad World." It was sad seeing how old they had gotten...

Much as I don't agree with him politically at all, truth is that Alec Baldwin's cameo in "Glegarry Glen Ross" was outstanding, especially when you consider the other talent in that flick. Baldwin's flaky liberal politics aside, he is one of America's greatest actors. His monologue in Glengarry Glen Ross was hair-raising brilliance.

Joe Cocker walking onto the "Saturday Night Live" stage while John Belushi was in the middle of a superb imitation of Cocker singing "With A Little Help From My Friends".
Belushi was shocked for a second, but kept right on going with Mr. Cocker for back-up.
The Bob Newhart/Sizanne Pleshette scene has been mentioned many times.
John Wayne on "Laugh-In":
"The sky is blue
"The grass is green
Get off your duffs
And join the Marines!"
Don Siegle as the taxi driver driving Kevin McCarthy out of Santa Clara in the original "Invasion Of The Body Snatchers". Then reprising the same role in the re-make, while dodging a frantic Kevin McCarthy.
If you pay attention, you'll also catch a glimps of Robert Duvall standing in a line holding an alien pod in the Donald Sutherland re-make.
Stanley Kubrick as a war correspondent leading his camera crew to film Joker, Cowboy and the Lusthog Squad behind cover in "Full Metal Jacket".
Jack.

Jesus, in the history of the world.
To see why our Lord chose the cameo route, see the John Candy movie Delerious for a hilarious counter-example. Candy plays a soap-opera writer who wakes up inside his creation after a blow to the head, WITH the magic typewriter that allows him to re-write the script from inside! As he flaunts his powers, his creations have their characters warped, and find themselves inexplicably acting out of character. Whereas the Lord of Glory clothes Himself in frail humanity, so that unbelievers have the luxury of continuing in unbelief, if that's what they really want. And in the end, no one will have grounds for complaint.
