"SOME" of them will be armed. SOME. Not all, but some. Has he run this by W yet?

These Guardsmen are good people -- Americans like their National Guard, just like the rest of their military.
But this deployment smells like a pure publicity stunt.

I wonder if someone has developed the stones to stand up to the reported Mexican soldier/thugs intruding into our territory. Perhaps this is a response to these violations of our border, deploy them up front in the trouble areas, as BP backup elsewhere.

But that means they'll be nearby in case you need them, I hope. Especially for those drug runners that do have machine guns and heavy weapons.

The Senate gave America away yesterday. What good are border troops going to do when the borders will remain open anyway and the invasion will continue, and in fact increase?
The traitors gave our country away yesterday with the full agreement of the President of the United States. I never thought I would live to see this. May they all rot.

News for you Mr. Blum, the M-16 IS a machine-gun!
And likely to be needed too.

Has the federal government and the state governments ironed out their differences on who is going to pay for the National Guard troops? I have a suspicion that the state governments are going to end up with the bill. I could be wrong.

I guess means they can't call in an airstrike.
