Off to the Races
Joining approximately 1200 fans, the Harris for U.S. Senate campaign ventured out to the Desoto Super Speedway recently and Katherine quickly stole the show.
Jack Smith, a track official said, "Often, when a political candidate or even one already in office shows up at a race track, they do their thing, make their short speech, shake a few hands, and leave quickly. Not so with Katherine!
After taking time to talk to seemingly everyone in the stands, she moved to the flag-stand, officially started the race with the green flag, and later discussed gas prices, illegal immigration problems, and the economy, closing with, 'We're not ever going to let those boys in Washington tell us what we're going to do, we're going to listen to Floridians and take care of you guys back home!'"
So enthralled in speaking to fans and watching the race were Katherine and her husband, Anders, that they stayed at the race until well past 10:00 p.m. Summing it up for everyone, race fan John Sarppraicone stated, "A lot of politicians don't care about the everyday folks, and you know what, the everyday folks are what make this country. [Katherine] has a very positive attitude toward people...she can do some good for our country."
Katherine dropped the green flag to start the race and watched the "Harris for U.S. Senate" car driven by Bill Davis (#15 car/appropriately named "Miss Liberty") circle the track.
"Our Girl..."
Also last week, Katherine traveled to Daytona. Not for another race, but to attend the Volusia County REC's Lincoln Day Dinner with special guest Lynn Swann, former NFL Hall of Famer for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and current Pennsylvania gubernatorial candidate. Hundreds of local Republicans gathered along with some of the most influential politicians in Florida for what was an amazing night.
As Katherine settled into her seat, a plentiful vinaigrette salad with hot rolls and iced tea before her, her attention pointed to the stage as the band played old jazz tunes. Suddenly the band-leader stopped and looked out among the crowd, and called four people to the stage.
Whispered murmurs heighten as attendees speculated about what was happening, as this was not part of the official program. Suddenly, intonations of chords of the song, 'My Girl,' reverberate off the walls. The quartet called to the stage began singing the song, but inserting the word "Katherine" to the lyrics. "Katherine, my girl, talking about, my girl, Katherine, oooooo-oooooo-oh! Katherine! Katherine!" Surprise, laughter, and smiles quickly followed, as a shocked Katherine beamed, ear-to-ear. What a way to top off the night! "I was so surprised at the 'serenade' by the quartet. I think we'll have to bring them along with us on the campaign trail," Katherine said.
"This is just the beginning for what promises to be an eventful campaign where we travel the state, meet with voters, and have some fun on the trail," Katherine added. For updated campaign information, news articles, pictures and videos, please visit our website at http://www.ElectHarris.org

As an alert to freeper GOP voters and Harris supporters on FR, please analyze this thread:
Hitman and Field Marshall are stalking Harris thread to trash her, often repeating Dem talking points as they post on this and on numerous other Harris threads.
NOTE that of the approximately 85 posts on this thread as I write, 21 or more are from these two stalkers working in tandem.
Please NOTICE how they work as a team, alternating the hits.
Also NOTICE how near the end of the second set of 50 replies, they are virtually and unabashedly hi-jacking the thread, spouting their negativity against our state's conservative candidate, Cong. Harris.
MR. HITMAN and Mr. FIELD MARSHALL, please be aware that I shall follow your swat team forays on FR and I will expose your methods on every thread you try to trash just as a surely as you stalk the Harris supporters.
Folks, scroll back and take a look-see for yourself. Verify the methodology for yourself. I'm not making this up. I've been on FR since '98 and have never seen anything like this.
Honest debate and comments are one thing, but stalking by Harris hitmen is intolerable.
This is not the first thread where this distortion of our privileges here on FR have taken place. the trash campaign looks suspiciously professional to me.
Thanks for your attention,
Leni/MinuteGal (Florida)
No. But that's not what you're about. You said I think that the average voter can reasonably look at Nelson and Harris and come to the conclusion that Nelson is the better choice.
Am I wrong to believe that you think reasonable people see the pro-abortion/late term abortion, anti-military, UN appeasing, tax raising, gay marriage and gay adoption supporting, ACLU loving, conservative judge hating ultra-liberal who will vote against every piece of conservative legislation that comes before him, as the best choice?
Do you consider yourself to be a reasonable person?
As a reasonable person, do you look at their ACU ratings and agree with other reasonable Florida voters that Nelson is the better choice compared to Harris? Are you so caught up with style over substance that you would choose a dirt-bag like Nelson over Harris because she doesn't wear her make up the way you prefer? Pagliacci. Isn't that the character you use to insult KH?
I never thought it was possible for one conservative to work so hard to insult another conservative the way you do. This fact alone tells us everything we need to know about you.
Leni
Bump for Katherine!
She'll get to spend all the time she wants racing when she loses by 20pts.
I'm still sickened by the sorry state of her campaign and the Florida State Party for not being able to talk a credible challenger into challenging her in the primary.
Good grief. You come to these threads intentionally looking for trouble and when you find it you get all whiny and indignant. Maybe you should grow some skin if this is going to be your MO.
Or, maybe we should just begin referring to you as "fieldmarshalettedj."
Meant to ping you to my post #87
So....why didn't he run then?
* Crickets chirping *
Just got this email from the Sarasota Veterans Council:
Congresswoman Katherine Harris will be in the Memorial Day parade and speaking at the ceremony following the parade. On this Memorial Day it is both fitting and proper to thank her for her work in getting us a new National Cemetery in Sarasota County.
It was only because of her personal involvement and dedication to veterans that we got Sarasota added to the list of cemeteries already in the Senate and House Veterans Affairs Committees. She worked with Senator Bob Graham and Representative Chris Smith to make our dream come true, a new National Cemetery in Sarasota.
If you have the chance to speak to her please thank her for her work. If you want to hold a home made sign that says "Thank you Katherine for our National Cemetery" I am sure none would object and she would most appreciate it.
This Memorial Day is special because we now have a location for our cemetery.
Thank you Katherine.

Hey, Hitman, did you get your check from Karen Thurman in the mail, yet ? ;-)
"MR. HITMAN and Mr. FIELD MARSHALL, please be aware that I shall follow your swat team forays on FR and I will expose your methods on every thread you try to trash just as a surely as you stalk the Harris supporters."
Be sure to pack an extra supply of Reynolds Aluminum Foil. Reynolds, the official aluminum foil of all raving moonbats everywhere.
"Honest debate and comments are one thing, but stalking by Harris hitmen is intolerable."
Yup, we just keep on posting unassailable polling data and facts, and it's just intolerable to the moonbat brigades.
Earth to Mase, the people of Florida have spoken. The majority of Floridians may agree with KH's political positions, but they detest KH as a PERSON, and they're going to vote for the loony liberal 'Rat Space Cadet in November. It's sad, it's sickening, but it's true.
Now just imagine what we could do with a Conservative GOP candidate who wasn't TOXIC ?
>>Also note only 37% of GOP primary voters support her (as the only clear MAJOR candidate, a disaster by any stretch).<
Well, Fieldmarshaldj, since you are so quick with these numbers, do you have an explanation for these low poll numbers from members of her own party ?
Gratuitous insults, madam, don't change this fact:
58% Nelson -- 25% KH
Wake up and smell the napalm. She's dead, Jim.
If she stays where she is right now, she might lose by 50%. Now, I doubt it will be that horrendous, but 35% is not inconceivable. But the 'Rats will be laughing their red butts off for the next 20 years at this farce.
Really ? Try Tom McClintock, 2003, California Gubernatorial Recall Election. As nutty as you guys get, this is a pleasant tea party by comparison.
If Katherine Harris wins the Florida GOP Primary, fair and square, we should all support her run for the U.S. Senate -
even if she does not have a great chance of winning !
