If Katherine Harris wins the Florida GOP Primary, fair and square, we should all support her run for the U.S. Senate -
even if she does not have a great chance of winning !
IF Katherine Harris is nominated, I will shut my trap and wholeheartedly support her in November against the commie RAT Nelson.
That said, I do not believe Katherine Harris EVER SHOULD be nominated because regardless of how conservative she is or how gutsy she was to stand for the rule of law in 2000, because she is simply a lousy candidate whose chance of winning is the slimiest of slim.
While I admire her leadership as Florida Secretary of State, it does not entitle her to a U.S. Senate seat or even to a U.S. Senate nomination. She did win a seat in Congress that she should be perfectly content with. Hell, Bill McCollum's leadership in the Clinton impeachment was far more ballsy than Harris and not only was he refused the Senate nod last time, but many Florida "conservatives" on this board started trashing him as a socialist and a RINO. At least I show Harris more respect than they showed McCollum.
Likewise, the fact I intend to support Harris in the GENERAL election shows alot more dignity and loyalty to the conservative cause than the useful idiots on this board who spent the entire GENERAL ELECTION trashing Alan Keyes every move and pimping for Obama. When you look at the amount of garbage spewed at McCollum and Keyes from fellow conservatives, we're giving Katherine a walk in the park. Sweet lady? Yes. Conservative voting record? Yep. Solid record as SOS? Definitely. Electable or popular? NO WAY.
When some guy like Alan Keyes run a horrible campaign in November, we have NO other options but him so we are obliged to do everything we can to try and salvage his campaign in order to stop a socialist Dem. When candidates like Katherine Harris or Jeanine Pirro poll double-digit negatives and run a horrible campaign in the primary, we are not obliged to "get behind" them and go down with the ship. We are obliged to support another Republican who will be a far stronger candidate against the Democrat.
In the primary, I am supporting Thomas LeRoy Collins Jr. , a decorated retired Navy Officer (will play great with the seniors), and namesake son of very popular, legendary former Governor Thomas LeRoy Collins Sr. I encourage you to do likewise.
