...Diana Irey and a busload of supporters headed to D.C. to demand Murtha apologize to Marines for recently accusing some of them of being cold-blooded killers.
...
"Mr. Murtha's comments, I believe, were irresponsible and they put our men and women serving overseas in greater danger," Irey said.
Murtha recently said several Marines killed at least 15 Iraqi civilians in cold blood last November and said action should be taken.
While the U.S. military doesn't dispute the congressman's claim, Irey said Murtha is in the wrong.
"Being a former Marine himself, he should know they have a process in place to take care of situation that may have happened that should not have happened," Irey said.
"By coming out and calling them 'cold-blooded killers,' he's already tainted the minds and possible jury of those who will be hearing these allegations."
Irey's visit to Washington, D.C., comes on the heels of Murtha receiving the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award for speaking out against the war.
Irey said she believes many eye the Kennedy family with suspicions and said she's never heard anything positive about the award.
Stay with Channel 6 News Wednesday evening as we cover this story from Washington, D.C. We will bring you more details on Irey's comments, as well as Murtha's response.

Murtha statements make my blood pressure zoom..I despise his undermining our troops and their mission. Indeed. And if enough of us feel that way and actually take action, then maybe Jack Murtha will be sent into early retirement.

Pardon me, but shouldn't that read "took no account of his life"?

Without seeing the entire citation, I read it as he was taking stock of his life, thinking he was dying.

I've sent her a donation. Every little bit will help.

"And at three different moments, in nanoseconds laced with adrenaline, confusion, sweat and blood, Marine Corps 1st Sgt. Bradley Kasal took account of his life.
Then he decided it would be OK if he died.
His decision earned him the Navy Cross on Monday."

I've sent her a donation. Every little bit will help. Indeed. Thank you for your support. I know her campaign had received something along the lines of 200 online donations the first few days after Murtha's verbal vomit. If each one averaged $20, that's 4 grand. An average of $50 would yield 10 grand. (So there's no confusion, I have no idea what the contributions are averaging - just heard some general numbers of donors.)

At one time in the not too distant past, democrats, despite real differences with Republicans over policy issues, would have never dreamed of stabbing our troops in the back as a ways and means to attack a sitting, wartime President.
Today's democratic party is no longer 'a party' at all, but a domestic insurgent group so hell-bent on their bloodthirsty quest to get George W. Bush that scant thought is paid to the very real danger their loose talk is putting our troops in.
Murtha and the rest of these immature cowards should be made to pay the ultimate political price for their selfish, treasonous words.
I hope Irey wipes the floor with his bloated carcass.

Diana Irey and a busload of supporters headed to D.C. to demand Murtha apologize to Marines for recently accusing some of them of being cold-blooded killers. Irey is overplaying her hand.
She made an excellent statement condemning Murtha; she should leave it at that and concentrate on how Murtha is out of touch with his district and what she will do as Congresswoman.
Taking a busload of supporters to D.C. to demand that Murtha apologize isn't going to get her anywhere and will turn off undecided voters.

Ms. Irey from PA did what our reps in Virginia have not - publicly called on Murtha to apologize. Murtha is not going to apologize.

Is Murtha a demorat in skunk's clothing or a skunk dressed up to look like a demorat? Either way, he is a P.O.S. as far as I'm concerned.

Just think, you could have kept quiet, written an E-mail to her campaign, sent a donation, muttered disapprovingly around the water cooler, all number of things.
But instead you decided to come on here and spread your gloom. Thanks!!
Let's just say that a lot of us disagree.
