Meet "Jessie MacBeth." He's the latest cause celebre of the anti-war Left -- a "former Army Ranger and Iraq war veteran" who accuses his fellow troops of committing a litany of atrocities against innocent civilians.

It is both revealing and sad that there are so many insane people on the left. They mean well, but...

This is tried at least once a year. Insanity prevents the perpetrators from realizing that it never worked before and is never likely to ever work... not in 2006, certainly.

Of course, if it is done entirely to massage their private circle j*** and to create urban legends that will live forever going from insane mind to insane mind...

I guess it serves some purpose, twisted though it may be.

Were these experiences "seared into his memory"?

I say try him on war crimes (based on his testimony) and throw him in jail. He can try to prove his innocence.

The lier should be forced to tell the truth.

There's just one problem: According to Department of the Army spokesman Paul Boyce, there is no record of "Jessie MacBeth," a.k.a. Jesse Adam MacBeth, having served in either the Rangers or the Special Forces -- or in any part of the Army at all. Boyce told me Tuesday that a check on MacBeth's credentials came up empty. "At a minimum, this appears to have been concocted" and "some sort of hoax," Boyce said. Special Operations Command and the State Department have been alerted.

Oops!

Good job, Michelle Malkin. The anti-war left's eagerness to lap this stuff up is a commentary on both their reflexive anti-Americanism and how few of them know anything at all about the military--this guys's claptrap is so obvious, anybody who's ever served would have raised the BS flag.

Quality control is at an all-time low over at DUmmieland. And that's saying something.

Just the typical democrat party operative, perhaps a bit more stupid than usual.

Still the "Jenjhis Kahn" mentality. Notice how similar the words of this "veteran" are to those of one John Forbes Kerry, who was reportedly a naval officer who served in Viet Nam.

The guy missed the charge of connecting telephone wires to the genitals of captured civilians and applying voltage through that means.

It would be helpful if some of his buds spoke up to contradict him...like the swift boat sailors.

THIS MacBeth also sounds like a genuine scumbag.

How do we spell Jesse Macbeth with the "th" in superscript, a la Dan Rather?

They're trying to "Vietnamize" Iraq. It worked 30 years ago. Now the blogosphere is here and too many people know the truth.

It can only make you wonder what would have happened to all the Vietnam atrocity stories accepted by the press and left (no distiction) and printed as the truth.

It stained my generation, I never knew a babykiller never saw anyone kill civilians and I never believed it.

Nevermore!

Here's an interesting thought. It may be that the only people who can talk about war-crimes that they suppposedly took part in will have to be frauds because if they were for real, they could be proseuted for war crimes.

Look for more to come.

Can this pretender be arrested for impersonation?

If he had impersonated a police officer he would be in jail by now.
