Mark Belling On Rush - apologist for do nothing on the border Congress and Bush.
On the border control discussion on Rush's show, stand-in host Mark Belling was a clear example of what is wrong with our past immigration policy and especially what is wrong with it now.
His lame excuses don't cut it. A caller to the show pointed out the laws that are in place now that could be enforced and all Belling did was make more excuses. The same caller pointed out all the programs and welfare that are in place for illegals and lure them to the U.S. and Belling again made excuses.
In the final word, Belling kept falling back on a "its a very difficult situation."
No, it is only difficult if you do not want to do something about it. There are laws to be enforced. Enforce them. There are benefits being offered to illegals. take them away.
There is a wide open border. Bush has the authority now to put troops on the border. DO IT and DO IT NOW! All Bush needs to say it that it is for national security and move the troop there.
If Congress wants to try and stop him, let them have at it. I bet they don't have the courage. Just like Bush does not have the courage to do it.
Belling is so wrong on this I turned off the radio and won't listen to Rush any time that idiot is stepping in as a subsitute host. I don't tune in for BS on the border issue. I can see plenty of that from Bush and Congress (a very few Congressman excepted).
(Sorry for this vanity. I needed to vent).

Giving employers of illegal immigrants amnesty is itself a crime. Enforcing the laws against them will stop the flow of illegal immigrants.
I had to turn him off.
It was just too absurd.
FNC had a story about truck runners with human cargo who race their trucks into oncoming traffic to make the chase so dangerous that border patrol will not follow them.
If there was a 2000 mile wall there would be no entry for vehicles except legal crossings.
FNC said they TROLL THE DESSERT looking for illegals to pick up! They even had video of the trucks just driving across the border. A virtual fence will not stop them.
Rush is right on this being an INFURIATING issue.
this guest did not help matters.
I demand rush make adopt a guest host program! (it is not guest amnesty becuase guest hosts have to pay a 25 cent fine.)
Bush 'pushing' the issue... he's doing a lousy job at it.
I don't care about what Congress' or the President's agendas are. They have nothing to do with what the people want. They have their own agendas (to get re-elected).
The fact is, tensions have been rising in this country over illegal immigration for some time, regardless of whether El Presidente mentioned it in 2005. To suggest that the nation suddenly wants to fix the border problem because Bush wants it is pathetic BushBot mentality.
I'm wondering how many of Rush's listeners this fool got rid of.
I'm hoping his being on today was the result of a last-minute thing and Rush didn't have time to come up with a better substitute host.
Seems to me the Administration made a big deal about it.
What does a bunch of guys running around at the border have to do with Congressional consideration of immigration reform?
You and BJung need to go back and look at the timeline. Bush outlined a plan in early 2004, then again in 2005, indicating it was a priority of his.
Sensenbrenner wrote a bill because the White House asked him to.
Yet JR refused to allow MMP articles to be posted at first, so what is it indicative of?
"Opps, guess I shouldn't admit I even mow my own grass:)"
Yeah, that's what illegals are for!
"You and BJung need to go back and look at the timeline. Bush outlined a plan in early 2004, then again in 2005, indicating it was a priority of his."
Perhaps the President is the reason immigration's on the agenda.
But that just makes it worse, because what he has proposed is awful.
Yes, I agree.
Consider this: with Latinos at 14% of the population in 2006, the debate isn't about deportation/expulsion, it's about amnesty/citizenship. Now where do you think the line will be drawn in another 10-20 years when Latinos go over 20-25%?
Debating the effects of illegal immigration is like arguing about the tide. It been demonstrably proven that there isn't anything anyone can do about it - legislatively or otherwise. The time for action was a generation ago when the country still possessed its core personality.
That era is long past; in essence, it's all over except for the crying. Your post is just another example.
No they haven't.
The only tense ones over illegal immigration have been the one-note charlies like Tancredo, and the Joe Hadenufs and Travis McGees on FR, neither of whom is even here any longer.
If it was a priority he would have brought it up in the debates. Nice try, but keep spinning.
Good question. When I tuned into his show on KRLA, they were playing a rerun of Hugh Hewitt. KTIE was also running alternative programming. Neither the stations' websites nor Savage's own provided an explanation as to what had happened. However, Savage was back the next day.
Because the people posting them were nutburgers.
Salute the new flag being waved on FR today!
I turned him off in disgust before the first break when he essentially said that all those illegals who are now here should be allowed to stay.
I wish Rush would stick with Walter Williams as his backup quarterback.
Bush didn't choose the questions he was asked at the debates.
They were really cutting edge, and forced this pres to the plate kicking and screaming. BTW nut burgers vote too.
