This topic is boring. If you haven't figured out the deal yet, it's doubtful you'll ever learn.

Consider this: with Latinos at 14% of the population in 2006, the debate isn't about deportation/expulsion, it's about amnesty/citizenship. Now where do you think the line will be drawn in another 10-20 years when Latinos go over 20-25%?

Debating the effects of illegal immigration is like arguing about the tide. It been demonstrably proven that there isn't anything anyone can do about it - legislatively or otherwise. The time for action was a generation ago when the country still possessed its core personality.

That era is long past; in essence, it's all over except for the crying. Your post is just another example.

"The time for action was a generation ago when the country still possessed its core personality."

Agreed, but it's not too late. Deportation and expulsion are not required to fix this huge problem. All we need to do is STOP the welfare benefits and vigorously go after the businesses who hire them. Then we just sit back and watch them deport themselves because the reasons they want to be here will have evaporated.

If we just had politicians with brains and b@!!s we wouldn't even need to build a fence or increase border security, (except to catch terrorists). The reason why illegal immigration has been spiralling out of control since 1995 is the increase in government benefits and in work opportunities. We have been outsourcing manufacturing jobs to China and hi tech jobs to India, and we have been insourcing labor/construction jobs from unemployed Mexicans and giving them 'free benefits' as an added incentive to come here. This is what our leaders in Washington have created, but it can be reversed overnight if we have the will.

What does the percentage of Latinos have to do with anything? You are mistaken if you believe all Latinos are pro-amnesty.
