Maybe you post in a hurry.

No, but I do sometimes read in a hurry when it's late at night. Which is why I scrolled so fast that I only read the last paragraph of your post. So, my apologies for missing the irony that came before it. And thanks for calling me a deaf moron. It made my day :)

Has anyone heard a rumor that a coalition of anti-amnesty groups are getting together to put up a Swift-Boat type campaign against those up for reelection who vote for AMNESTY? Any opinions on the effectiveness of TV ads informing the public on who exactly voted for amnesty and other beneits for illegals? Sounds good to me.

I am less surprised by Lugar. He has shown RINO tendancies on a great number of issues. Particularly on ones that pertain to degrading our national sovereignty. He was all set in 2005 to try and push through the Law of the Sea Treaty for example, which Reagan had vetoed clear back in the 80's. And then fired the negotiators of it.

Unfortunately, Clinton brought it back, rehiring the criminals who negotiated it, and W has failed to manifest the slightest inclination that he would veto it...

We need to have a House Cleaning, and turn out the RINOs. The best place to challenge is not at the General election...but at the Caucuses and Primaries. Divest them of their tenuous claim to Republicanhood.

Okay, I get it, my bad...too much, sorry. ( I ~hate~ when my litte witticisms are overlooked. I feel like my head is going to explode! It is lucky that I don't have a personal-sized atom bomb in a can to open up on folks in such moments. Now I am all remorseful. I live a rich emotional life ;-)

Dobbs is pulling me back to CNN.

It is like Michael Corleone said, "Just when I thought that I was out they pull me back in!"

Now I am all remorseful.

In that case, I've decided against adding you to my Richard Nixon Memorial Message Board Enemies list. Glad we're friends again :)

PS- Don't feel too remorseful. It really did make me smile.

You are absolutely correct the primaries are where we need to be winning and the democrats have known this for years. During the last two major elections that I have been eligible to vote I know of alot of Democrats that switch their party affiliation just to vote in the Republican primaries. I also wonder how many American voters just vote for their party affiliation without knowing anything about the candidates if this is the case maybe it is something to use as an advantage.

Nothing Luger does anymore surprise me. He use to be a good Senator. Have worked in every one of his campaigns. Not this year. He nor his staff will respond to emails.

exactly which roll call vote are you referring to in this thread?

I have been following this debate.. and there are some very delicate compromises that had to happen in order to have a chance to get this passed and on to conference with the house.. many of the concerns can be addressed at conference and "fixed".... and hopefully they get a bill passed that the President can sign..

REMEMBER... .we NEED 60 Votes in the Senate to have a majority.. until we get 60 votes.. 41 Dems can STOP the show.. and prevent anything from happening....

To collect SS there must be money paid to the number account. ... If they become legal, they must have a new SS number and deposited funds accrue from that date.

Only one thing - the funds don't accrue. Kongress spends them faster than they come in and replaces money with IOU's, so no has anything in their SS "account" just a promise to pay with future collections.

.....Only one thing - the funds don't accrue.......

Well, that's entirely not correct.

Congress does spend them, and they don't pile up in a box.

However, they are credited to the individual numbered SS account. The eventual benefits paid result from the total accrual. Social Security provides you a periodic statement detailing the amounts accrued to the penny. The more accrued, the more the benefits.

This is the precise reason the illegals will get screwed out of this money. The actual holder of the bogus account will receive the benefit of an increase in his monthly SS check.

the title of the thread suggests that the named "11" voted on a specific ammendment to grant SS benefits to Illeglas... I would like to know which vote and/or which ammendment is being referred to
