New information from this blog: “Initial research by the U.S. Army Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg shows no Soldier with the name of Jesse Macbeth having ever been assigned to the Special Forces or the Army Rangers -- which are, in fact, two separate disciplines. This appears to be some sort of hoax. No Soldier by that name at Fort Lewis to our knowledge, in the past, either. Of course, the line about "go into the Army or go to jail" is vintage TV script not heard since the 1960s. There are also numerous wear and appearance issues with the Soldier's uniform -- a mix of foreign uniforms with the sleeves rolled up like a Marine and a badly floppy tan beret worn like a pastry chef. Of course, the allegations of war crimes are vague, as are the awards the Soldier allegedly received.” As quoted from Army spokesman John Boyce.

The video(s) keep getting posted, and then removed. Then they reappear. The links in post 109 were working a little while ago, but now they're down again. That site has/had the video in three segments.

I currently have a window open with the video posted at http://www.peacefilms.org . But I opened that window back when it was still working. It's down now. It's the whole video, in one piece.

I wish I knew how to save a flash video.

The video is of a fake Army Ranger, Jessie MacBeth, telling about the massacre he participated in, in Falluhjah. He's not the least bit convincing. He looks like a boy, and he stutters something fierce. He claims the order to massacre innocent Iraqi civilians came from high up the chain of command.

Bloggers from all over the Internet have torn this video apart. MacBeth is a war protester, with a criminal record. The day after the "massacre" in Falluhjah, he was in the States, prostesting against the war. During the "massacre," the unit he claims to be with was at Ft. Benning, GA.

At the end of the 2nd video, he uses the pronoun "us" when referring to Iraqis. "It's like mass genocide, on us."

In one of the videos, he says that he modeled himself on the Viet Nam vets. Eddie Murphy in Trading Places comes to mind.

Iraq Veterans Against the War had a link to the video. They've disabled that link, and are now claiming they knew nothing about the video, or Jessie MacBeth. But I saw his profile on their website (can't find the link now.) He's an active member there, and his profile was still posted on their site as of a couple hours ago. I'd have saved the link if I'd known then that they are now denying knowledge of him.

If you google his name, you might come up with an active site posting the video. Don't forget to check google news. Sometimes he spells his name Jessie, and sometimes Jesse. I think he also uses a variation on his last name, MacBeth, or McBeth.

This is a real problem because they are usually not identified other than first name and state. Who's to say? Some are propagandists, but very subtle, and doubtless delude lots of civvies even and/or esp. the host. They are fraudulently assuming identity and legitimacy conferred of real soldiers past, present and future and almost always to the detriment of same.
