As anyone who's a member of the NRA already knows, the United Nations is hosting one of their pathetic "summits" to discuss amongst their totalitarian selves how to disarm the civilian populace of the world.

Never wasting an opportunity to P.O. the American public, this event is going to be hosted on July 4th of all days, right in NYC. With an estimated half of the world's non-government-owned firearms existing in the United States alone, our nation is the biggest single impediment to this agenda.

By the way, the last such summit was held in Brazil in 2001, if I recall correctly, and just last year that nation voted down a broad anti-gun law, much to the anti-gunners' amazement and dismay.

The NRA is pretty much the only organization still getting my money. The RNC is a lost cause.

This is a slap in the face to law-abiding Americans, and while we enjoy near-record-low crime rates in this country, the totalitarian, gun-grabbing regimes across Europe and the rest of the world find themselves being overrun with violence and violent crime.

We can at least veto such legislation. If we're out of the UN, we will let the Russians, Chinese, terrorist states and others do anything they want without the ability to stop them. They could disarm the entire world and we would end up a tiny island of sanity in a mad mad world. No thanks. I'd rather us be a pain in the UN's a&&.
