The three day Olney Days Festival was held this weekend in Olney. One Festival event was the "Mr. & Ms. Olney Contest". [Mrs] T thought that it would be nice if FRee Republic had its own contest. So the "Mr. & Ms. Idiot Contest" was born.
Please give your votes in a post. If I'm not beat to the punch by some smart a## FReeper, :-)) , I'll give the results in next week's Thread. (Pics by [Mrs] T and banner photoshopped by iMacMan).
So without further ado, Drum Roll Please -
Drum Roll * Drum Roll * Drum Roll * Drum Roll * Drum Roll
(Give this rookie a break, add your own drum roll!!)
BELOW LEFT: Contestant Womyn No. 1, (If she is not a womyn, he ought to be. MIDDLE: Contestant Womyn No. 2 aka 'Peek-A-Boo'. RIGHT: Peek-A-Boo from an earlier thread.
BELOW LEFT: Manly Man No. 1 aka 'Barking Waveman' who accosted a jogger several weeks back. MIDDLE: Manly Man No. 2, the orignal 'Idiot' as proclaimed by our jogger. RIGHT: Manly Man No. 3, just a non person, but note his fashion statement.
FReepers Reign:
There were 5 FReepers in attendance. They were the regulars, Cindy_True_Supporter (CTS), Lurker Bill, [Mrs] Trooprally ([Mrs] T),myself ([Mr] T), and iMacMan (iMM). Pics are by [Mrs] T unless duly acknowledged as iMM's.
BELOW: [Mr] T and Lurker Bill setting up blue banner.
BELOW: CTS and [Mrs] T getting their signs. (pic by iMM)
BELOW: Great pic of CTS with flag unfurled.
BELOW: Close up of Lurker Bill.
BELOW: CTS and iMM. Note 'Verizon/FiOS sign in the place of The Steam Pot sign.
BELOW: Did I mention that it was very, very windy? Note the billowing of the banner and bending of the supports. I'm taping down the banner to the supports because the banner kept blowing up the supports. We also had extra tie downs to the banner. The banner maker (she's modest and doesn't want her name used, but thanks AW) put brass rings at the end tops for just this reason.
BELOW: [Mr] T, iMM behind sign and CTS. You will notice additional flags on the telephone poles. They are put up by Fletcher's BP and Graeves Appliance & Auto Repair, two Olney businesses. The flags are put up during patriotic holidays and go for 5 blocks along Georgia Avenue and several blocks on MD Rte. 108.
BELOW: iMM and CTS. Pic also shows Fletcher's and flag on pole (at CTS's right shoulder) in front of the gas station.
BELOW: Blue banner. Thanks Concretebob for supplying the 3/4" rebars that support it and the red banner. We did have to use the shorter supports for the blue banner but we put it on top of the grassy knoll for better visibility.
THEN THE MOONBATS. The moonbats had 8. If it wasn't for them we wouldn't be having such a good time.
BELOW: Moonbat coming over to give us flier about a Montgomery County school teacher, Joe Mornini, that is taking up a collection to take Walter Reed soldiers on a Colorado kayak trip. The web site is www.teamriverrunner.org if you are interested. I personally do not know anything about it and as of this writing, have not checked him out. Apparently he also visits the troops in Walter Reed. Anyone know of him or his planned trip?
BELOW: Moonbat sitting down. They finally found her a job this week after sitting without a sign for the past several weeks. Their sign held up better this week.
BELOW: More moonbats.
MORE OF iMacMan's GREAT SUPPORT PICS.
There was talk of another contest, this time between [Mrs] T and iMM as to who can get the best close ups. Instead they broke up the responsibilities of taking pics. [Mrs] T did the FReep and close up pics and iMM did the passing cars.
To take pics of the passing cars, iMM had to put his cameras on automatic focus, then hid the camera behind his sign. But he could only guess the correct alignment. The pics below represent the best of 300 or so pics taken that day. I was pleasantly surprised that he captured the BELOW pic of the police officer giving a most enthusiastic wave out of his cruiser's window. We thought he missed it. Thanks also to iMM for taking time out from his recreational boating to review all the pics, and send them to us. iMM also did an excellent job on photoshopping the contest sign. So Thanks again iMM for a most excellent job.
BELOW: Early wave with just flags set out. No moonbats in the background. The original yellow contest banner is also showing.
BELOW: Three passenger wave.
BELOW: More pics of support.
BELOW: "V" for Victory or peace? - We'll claim this one just to spite the moonbats.
BELOW: Note flag on telephone pole across the street.
BELOW: Wave from behind the dry cleaners pick up.
REMEMBER
Next Saturday, same place, Georgia Avenue, MD Rte. 97 and MD Rte. 108 in Olney, MD

ping and Good Morning to all.
Great pics!
Great photos. Thanks for being there every week.
Thank you both.
We had some real nice weather except for the wind. We even got the tomato plants in the ground this weekend.
[Mr] T
Keep those moonbats batty, Mr and Mrs T & crew!
Mr & Mrs Idiot are a waste of genetic material!
Nice to see the report this morning.
As always, I wish I could be there too.
I am so glad to see CTS there. I miss you!
Does this mean I have 60 days to get well and get there for the first of the tomatoes? LOL I can try!
As long as the sun stays out. Last year we didn't get a lot of sunny days till mid-June. That was when the plants started growing. Until then they were dormant. We lost a lot of growing time.
In 60 days you'll be back in FL. We can hope can't we.
[Mr] T
Thanks for being there to support our troops and our country. What a great way to spend Armed Forces Day!
Thanks so much Justa.
It sure was windy~~~~ :>]
Miss having you there.
[Mrs T]
NO...
time schedule for treatments as well as skin grafts to follow all "up in the air".
I will stay until school starts again anyway. I had planned the summer with Grandson here so will stick with that plan.
Sorry, you will have to put cages around the tomatoes to protect them!!
Enjoyed the pics. Keep up the good work!
Thanks! Enjoyed the pix! Keep the faith!
Wow, this is the best Olney AAR yet! They keep getting better and better... Awesome job, Olney team!
What a Great Post! Thanks
-Eric
Are you talking about this pic?
Do you know if "Another Mother For Peace" is still around or is it associated with "MOBilizing Mothers", formerly Mothers Opposing Bush, or with PeaceAction? Or even Raging Grannies?
So many idiot groups -- so little time to FReep them!!!
